Born of Fury: The League: Nemesis Rising Review: Love the League Series! - I am such a huge fan of The League series - it appeals to both my love of a good science fiction story, as well as my softness toward a good romance with a happily ever after. This story has both. It was good to finally read Dancer Hauk's story, and Sumi is a great match for this fierce warrior. I really enjoyed the in-depth look in Andarion culture as well. It explains a lot. I don't mind the pages spent on backstory - it is nice for a fan to revisit, and good for someone who hasn't read all of the previous stories. Kenyon has such a way with dialogue that you often feel as if you are in the room with the characters and a part of their witty rapport. I so enjoy that! And I really love reading about how the various characters and their families are growing and changing. It's like being smack dab in the middle of a family reunion. I am looking forward to more stories in the series. I would love to know all of Bastien's story, and I am ever hopeful for a happily ever after for Fain. Review: Sumi is kick butt! - Born of Fury By Sherrilyn Kenyon This League novel continues the story of the Sentella who are fighting against the evilness in the galaxy. Dancer Hauk, scarred and treated horribly by his family, is targeted for death by his enemies. Sumi, the younger sister of Hauk’s sister-in-law, must bring him in or face the loss of her own daughter. Ms. Kenyon continues this gripping tale of loyalty and betrayal. The message of family is who you love not necessarily who you are born with, is a key piece of this tale, from both of the main characters’ points of view. Like many of the characters in Ms. Kenyon’s League novels, Sumi and Hauk are damaged but find that together they are stronger as well as love doesn’t see the flaws—only the blessings. I had a hard time getting into the story at first but once the main characters connected, I was hooked. New characters are introduced that I can’t wait to read about as the League is becoming one of the most wanted groups out there. It appears that everyone hates them now. Sumi is a character I’d like to be! She’s tough as nails yet loving and compassionate, a true mama bear! If you are in love with Science fiction romance with kick butt characters, Born of Fury is the book for you!

Another winner in the League series
We finally get Hauk’s full story and it is just as amazing as the rest of this series. Poor Hauk has the worst parents, and woman he is supposed to marry if she will have him. Turns out, she’s a major bitch and the only reason Hauk is supposed to marry her is because she was married to his brother. There is a lot of back-story here that has direct impact on the explosive ending, so I won’t go into details. Hauk has been treated horribly by his family and most of the Andarion people. We learn a lot about the Andarions & Phrixians cultures and rules and that knowledge really flushes out the world building from previous books in the series. But as with all League books, he has his adopted Sentella family which seems to grow with each book. There are some hilarious scenes here related to raising children which most of the Sentella members have now, some in abundance. Sumi is a typical take-no-prisoners League heroine. She has also had a rough life, the primary problem being that her daughter was taken from her at birth to be raised by the League and never know her mom. That fact haunts her and is a major plot line of the story. We are introduced to several new characters also, my favorite being Hauk’s grandmother. I don’t want to get into any spoilers, so I’ll just say, read this book. It is amazing! The audible version by Fred Berman is telemetry well done. I love WhisperSync!

Great addition to the series!
A great read and a wonderful addition to the League series for sure. Hauk has been such a big part of the previous books and now we get to really see and understand him. He is a dynamic and complex character and his book was a great joy to read. It is really long (Awesome in this case, more to love and enjoy) but it flows well and it has so much that it sucks you right in. You get to catch up with previous characters and I really enjoyed how we not only got a great book about Hauk and Sumi but we also got to revisit the entire "league world". I also liked that the "tortured hero" was toned down a bit. I am still wounded after Styxx last fall so I was a bit nervous. Hauk definitely has had a past but like I said, it is toned down. Oh and I also loved that you really got to see more of Fain and a bit more of his character too. Awesome read all around!!!

I'm not completely sure why, but I think this is my favourite book from this series so far and I loved the satisfying ending. It has a bit of everything, action, romance, found family and excitement. What more could you ask for?

Do not hesitate to buy it, it's worthy. Sherrilyn at her best, she never disappoints us when a new book hits the "shelves".

I've absolute loved The League series since I picked up the first novel! Kenyon is an inspired writer who has created an entire universe, and filled it so well with characters, and personalities, that it feels nearly real. 'Born of Fury' is my favourite book in the series as it follows the Andarion Warrior Hauk as he's forced to confront his past while trying to protect those he loves. It's a touchingly human story that deals with loss, heartbreak, guilt, and most importantly - learning to trust. I strongly recommend it to readers looking for a new series to immerse themselves in!
