This foot fits on my machine just fine (Singer 9960 Quantum Stylist ), but does not really gather. On the numerous different scraps that I tried it would alway sew flat for several inches, then create a very tight gather all of a sudden, then go back to stitching flat. I can do this better by hand.

I like this little foot. However it only works on lite weight fabrics never more than one layer at a time, except for lace and sheers. I make hats and work with all types for fabrics. Sometimes this sheering foot works and sometimes it doesn't It is trial and error but when it works it is a big help. The company is impressive. Every order and this is not my first foot comes in a very timely manner and exactly what I ordered. I trust them with my sewing needs.

Very disappointed in this product :( Directions were short and not detailed. I had to You Tube directions.... fabric doesn't stay put... it keep slipping out..... would not recommend this. I would rather hand gather in the dark with one hand tied behind my back before using this again....

This stupid foot would not gather on my Singer 9960. In fact, it wouldn’t push the fabric through causing needle and thread jams. I’m returning this crap!

Like every other sewer, I learned the tried and true way of doing gathers with 2 rows of basting stitches and manipulating the fabric by hand. But, why bother! While the journey may be just as enjoyable as the trip, it doesn't need to take longer to get there. I want guaranteed results when I sew and I want to finish my projects quickly and as professionally as possible.

There is a learning curve in getting this to work. I got it to create gathers with both thin and medium weight fabrics after playing with it for a while. I didn't try it with heavy weight fabric, nor do I think it would work. Changing the stitch length and tension worked for my machine.
