Fantastic water filtration
I wanted to wait awhile before writing this because I wanted to see how the system performed. I did have a my well company install it. It took him much of the day. I know, it seems pretty straight forward but after watching him, I'm glad I had them do it. I will say that this system is designed to be installed indoors hence the system being designed for Plex piping. You can not use this outside because it deteriorates in the sun. I didnt have a place inside for it. so he converted it over to regular PVC which was easy.Buying this system I fully understood what it was for and what it did and what it did not do. I understood this is a water conditioning filter not a water softener (like the traditional salt based water softener). As an earlier reviewer noted, it does bring the hardness of the water down a little bit. You can tell its softer but not a lot and it certainly doesn't have the slimy feel of the traditional water softener. Our well is in mud hole basically. The water is full of orange iron laced sediment. This system handles it beautifully. While the desolved solids are not removed, the water is restructured in such a way that the build up of lime on the fauchets, toilets and toilet bowl have been slowed down and some cases removed. The water tastes good and the carbon filter of the system polishes the water. It is super clear and delicious. I read one one review that showed dark water in the toilet, The only thing I can think of is when it was installed the carbon filter was not flushed long enough before plumbing it to the house. It did take quite a long time for it to run clear during installation. Longer than the 15 minutes the instructions said. The flow is really good, much better then I expected. Even with the amount of sediment coming out of the well, the prefilter lasted a good couple months before the element needed changed. I did not have to change the post filter at that time.Even though we are on a well, I did not get or want the UV element that is an option. The reason is because I do not feel it is effective for very long. I was a marine aquarist for many years and tried using UV to clean up some tank problems. It worked for about a week until the UV Tube lost its UV output. The tube can appear perfectly fine. It can show that it's lit, etc but it not killing anything. Thats just my experience. But for someone that needs water treatment and does not want the salt, sliminess and hassle of a traditional water softener, this system is perfect.

Solid product and company support.
System was installed by a licensed plumber. Identified a broken fitting on the tank. Waiting to hear from Aquasana before i finalize my review.Aquasana replaced the entire unit with the damaged fitting. System is working perfectly. Water smells better and no longer tastes like chemicals. Excellent product. Low profile install so it is not in the way even in my pantry.

Water conditioner is useless
TLDR: Water conditioner bad, rhino filter good.I've been living with this system for 10 months. It has done zero in the way of mitigating hard water. I understand that this is not a water softener but I thought I'd give it a try. The water stains are horrendous on my fixtures and dishes. I installed a new Delta faucet in my kitchen and the cartridge needed to be replaced within 6 months due to the hardness of the water. All this being said, the rhino filter is worth the money. It does everything promised to filter chlorine. I have since upgraded to a whirlpool water softener and kept the rhino filter as a pre filter to the softener. DO yourself a favor and get a salt softener or something similar. Water "conditioners" are a scam.

Not easy to install but once it's up...
A pain in the butt to install. Took a professional licensed plumber several hours and a trip to Home Depot because some necessary parts were missing. The color is just terrible and stands out like a sore thumb. Instructions are lacking so def. have someone experienced put this thing up.Once it was installed though, the water quality improved markedly over the next few days. Remember it takes some time for the "old" water in your home's pipes to flush out, and especially from your hot water tank (might take several showers and washes actually). This filtration system absolutely works. Usually our muni water tastes like a swimming pool. After installing this system, it tasted like...WATER! OMG! We also noticed better cleaning with fewer residues on dishes and clothes. The cost for the unit itself was decent, but do remember that unless you're experienced and comfortable in installing this yourself, you will want to hire someone who knows their stuff - and that gets expensive. Some homes require different plumbing, depending on where your main water line is (for example, if your garage is at the back of your house, there's a good chance you'll need special plumbing for this, which adds cost)If, like us, you're new to filtration systems like this, note that this unit does not require electricity of any kind, so you do not have to put this anywhere near an electric outlet. Nor does this require salt, unlike other, older filtration systems. It's pretty much set-and-forget (you do need to replace some filters though).

Good filter. Installation not straightforward. Some design issues. Water tastes great.
Excellent filter system. Installation was medium difficulty with included nipples and unions. I got a leak free install easily. The one thing I can’t understand is that the filter brackets for the pre and post filter are too shallow for the filters to mount to the wall; I used some wood blocks to mount them about 3/4” away and it then lined up with the main filter units. Strange design flaw.It comes with a bunch of Pex fittings but no Pex pipe or clamps. You need the special tool to crimp them as well. All in, I spent another hundred to get it all installed. The water tastes amazing.I can’t tell if the descaler is actually doing anything.
