Very Good Price/Performance Mechanical Watch
I've had this watch about a half a year. In terms of value for price, it is an excellent watch. I must emphasize "value for price". There are better mechanical watches on the market. But all of them cost more, and some cost a lot more. So my five stars is based on what I got, for the price I paid, not a relative measure versus other mechanical watches. This watch runs over 24 hours on a full wind just sitting still. If I wear it, and take advantage of the auto wind feature, it keeps it going. I can't ask for any more than that in terms of "working". As for performance, it runs about 1.8 sec fast per hour on a full wind, and tends toward 2.5 as the spring unwinds; I expected the opposite, but it actually runs faster as the spring power decreases. Overall, I expect it to runs about forty to fifty seconds fast per day. This is fine for a watch at this price point. Second had does not hack. The stem is difficult to pull out. I actually have to use a small precision screwdriver for this purpose. If you don't have strong fingernail, popping the crown might be difficult for you. The detentes for time and date are very distinct, and the set movement is light. Winding resistance is somewhat heavy, but not too difficult. "Leather" band is nice for this price point. Not stamped, so not sure if it's a leather grade or plether of some kind. Considering I've bought basic leather bands that cost more than the watch itself, this one does the job. I didn't have high expectations when I bought this watch, and so far it has exceeded them. Only time will tell if it continues. If you don't mind the issues I've described above, and are willing to sacrifice performance issues for price, this is a great watch. Looks are magnificent.

Save your money. Seriously.
An attractive watch with classic styling, nice weight and feel in hand, and comfortable on wrist. I was initially pleased with the watch, pleasantly surprised that a $16 automatic watch could seemingly be so good. Within 24 hours of wear I noticed the watch had stopped so I wound it again by hand and made sure to deliberately shake my wrist periodically throughout the day to keep it wound. It stopped again two more times in as many days leading me to conclude the internal counterweight wasn't rotating and, therefore, couldn't provide the kinetic energy necessary to keep the watch functioning. Rather than return the watch through Amazon I contacted the seller for support as the paperwork accompanying the watch requested. Customer support (via email) was prompt, courteous, and helpful. With apologies they offered to send me a new watch and did not ask for return of the original. Unfortunately the new watch was Dead On Arrival. It didn't work at all. One might be tempted to say, "you get what you pay for", or, "what did you expect from a $16 Chinese made watch?" Well, I figure even a $16 Chinese made watch should adequately perform its most basic function: accurately telling time. I don't expect the same accuracy, build quality or longevity I would from a Rolex...or even a Seiko...but, c'mon. Also disappointing is that no one seemed to have even bothered to check to see that the replacement watch worked properly before shipping it out. I was prepared to write a positive review of the replacement watch but obviously that isn't possible now. So my recommendation is to save a little more and buy a little better. If you want a recommendation for a reliable good-looking automatic with sapphire crystal, steel case, and a proven, reliable movement (Seiko 8215 movement) consider the Starking model AM0171. It's about $60. Update: I just returned the non-working $16 watch through UPS. I was told the box in which I packaged my return had to be in a $2.99 Tyvek envelope as per Amazon. Can't wait for my $13 refund. Lesson learned.

I was surprised at how nice this watch is for the money
I was surprised at how nice this watch is for the money. It is clear on the back so you can see the all metal gears inside. Not plastic parts but metal. The case is stainless steel. The watch and face is a little large but that's OK as it's a man's watch. It works by the kinetic motion of wearing it on your wrist or you can wind it up with the stem which I would recommend doing if you take it off while you sleep. Wind it up fully before going to bed and it will still be running when you get up. If you don't do that it will probably not be running in the morning. But for less than $20.00 I am very pleased with the quality of this watch. I have had it a week and it has not lost any time. It's been accurate. If you don't like hassle and expense of replacing watch batteries- then I would highly recommend this very affordable automatic watch. The band is adequate but it is not genuine leather as described but you can't expect a leather band on a watch costing less than $20.00. This is still a great value.

Looks Nice, But No Tick-Tock
It's a nice looking watch, and seems to work fine out of the box. But the main reason I bought it was because one of my granddaughters is fascinated by the tick-tock sound of our mechanical mantle clock. I thought that this watch, being a wind-up mechanical, would also make that sound, but alas, it is totally quiet. The wrist strap is very low quality. It feels like pieces of cardboard wrapped with shiny plastic material. I don't expect it to hold, given the extensive warnings the manufacturer includes in the product description, but I think that's to be expected at this price point. I'll wear it until it breaks, meanwhile continuing to search for an actual "tick-tock" wristwatch.

These GuTe and Vigoroso automatic mechanical wrist watches, that I recently purchased, appear to be the same watch in different colour formats, marketed by different companies. They both have the Winner logo and script on the dial just under the 12. I assume, therefore, that Winner is the watchmaker. For these reasons the reviews for these watches are going to be near identical. The Vigoroso version has a black striated dial, white fingers and white full sweep second hand. There are white Arabic numerals indicating the hours and around the very edge of the dial are minute / second markers with Arabic numerals at 5 minute / second intervals. The strap is black leather. This is not a high end watch. It could hardly be expected at a purchase price of merely £20.69.( My GuTe watch cost £26.99. Why the difference in price? ) Also, in the instructions, it warns that physical shock may cause the watch to malfunction. This implies to me that the mechanism is not shockproof. However at a price of £20.69 this watch could be considered disposable. If it only lasted 12 months, the cost averaged over the year would be 39.8 pence per week, considerably less than a half pint of premium English bitter, and it is guaranteed for 1 year. ( My GuTe watch is guaranteed for 2 years. Why the difference? ) For all that, this is an attractive watch. It has a classical elegance about it. I am a big fan of mechanical watches, particular automatic / self winding wrist watches. They are always ready to use and there are no batteries needing renewal / disposal. They are really green. Best of all, the second hand rotates with an almost completely smooth motion. This watch keeps jus as good time as my Seiko and Tissot automatics. However the power reserve is not as good as these higher specification watches. This is nothing that can’t be solved by 10 winds of the winder, morning and night. How big a deal is that? I love this watch. It will be used a great deal. The only citicism that I would make is that the date window is very small. It makes it difficult to read for old codgers like me.
