Great temporary/semi-permanent option!
We purchased this door so our cat could go in and out when we were on vacation. We didn't permanently install it, and it still works great--so well we are thinking of keeping it full-time. This is a great option if you are a renter and can't make permanent changes to your home but want to make sure your cat can come and go as they please. The cat door matches with my existing sliding glass door and looks attractive when installed. Installation was easy and I can pop it out of the frame when I don't want to use it. I highly recommend this door! Some possible drawbacks to consider: 1) lack of insulation between cat door and sliding glass door may be a concern in the winter. I'm considering putting some weather stripping to make sure it doesn't leak. 2) security: If you live in an area where there are frequent break-ins, this door is not for you, since it is easily removable. 3) space: the amount of space I have to get laundry baskets and other larger items out the sliding glass door is considerably smaller with the cat door installed. There's definitely enough room for any normal or larger sized person to get out, but it is smaller. While I consider the trade off to be worth it, you may feel otherwise.

The weather stripping provided does not work well.
The door fits well and was easy to install with only a screwdriver. The weather stripping provided did not adhere well to the glass and fell off after only a few minutes. This is not a major issue in the climate where this door is installed. Also this installation is within a screened area so the lack of a seal is not an issue for bugs. This could be a problem in colder climates or if there is no other barrier to insects or small reptiles. Substitute weather strips could probably be purchased at a hardware store. Otherwise the cat learned how to navigate the door and it is working well for its intended purpose.

Great product for my needs.
This door worked great for me. My family and I were away from home for 2 weeks and we didn't want Kitty to be confined to the the house for such a long period of time. She spends half of her days/nights outside. I wanted her to be able to go in and out while we were gone. My sliding doors are 8 feet high so this insert was about 16 inches short. I made some modifications to make it fit and fill the space. I did not want it permanently installed so I figured out how to make it a temporary door for use when we leave town. I put it in when we leave and then take it out when we get back. At first Kitty didn't seem to like using the door. She prefers somebody open the door for her to let her in and out. But now I think she misses it. Gave her so much freedom and independence as she didn't need help from us humans anymore to go in and out. ha ha. It's stored in the closet now, but I'll put it in again next time we go away for more than a few days.

Works great.
Pleasantly surprised. It's a sturdy unit and easily installed with no permanent marks to the door or frame. I would recommend buying an extra strip that blocks air from the new gap between the windows and install the extra one on the outside. I had a very small draft at the edges with only the one but the second strip fixed that.

Don't buy this door used...
I bought this door used because it saved me a good amount of money but it arrived without the center support pieces that are crucial to joining the two door pieces together. I started a return but my partner was able to grind down a couple of pieces of 1/2" EMT conduit and get them to fit in the slots. So I am keeping the door. I gave this a 3 star review not because of the missing parts but because, as a lot of people have said, the flap doesn't close after my cat has gone in or out. The magnet that holds the bottom of the flap isn't strong enough to pull the stiff plastic material that the flap is made of back to the metal frame. You wouldn't want too strong of a magnet because then the animal won't really be able to push it open but I have to go and tap it shut with my toe every time my cat goes in or out! I'm not sure if the plastic will soften up over time (I doubt it) and the flap will close tight or not but I'm struggling to figure out a work around. I think the design is good, the quality of the glass and frame is good, and the ease of installation is good. Now fix the door flap and it would be a 5 STAR product!

Kitties no longer have a curfew
Sturdy door, fits perfectly on our sliding glass door to the catio (on a 3rd floor deck). I wouldn't trust it on a main entrance as it would be too easy to push in but perfect for an entrance without easy access. The door doesn't latch after installed so we put a board in the lower opening to keep the door in place. It comes with a lock but it didn't work for my door. It suggests holding the door open for the cats, then start letting it brush their back. I just propped it open so that could come in/out then closed it the next day. They adjusted easily.

Actually looks good but a couple of really annoying issues
So took awhile to get round to installing for various reasons. First off the door actually look pretty good, Narrow so does take up space and matches with a sliding door. A few things to beware: 1. the top and bottom half didn't fit neatly together making it tough to screw together. 1 cross bar not flush with sides. Eventually I got it to fit with a slight gap. 2 Instructions are limited so you have to read between the lines. At this price cleared Ikea style instruction would be better 3. Door is narrower than the sliding door so may shim it either side to hold it in place. 4. Door catch requires drilling and fitting 2nd catch something we will not do on our new sliding door for warranty reasons and the idea of sticking the catch on doesn't seem to make any practical sense 5. The cat flap seems slightly too long so the cat can push it out but not get back in. So we've removed the magnet and trimmed the door on the sides. So overall it should do the job but some real annoying quality and design issues. Hope the review helps anyone buying or installing

Genial.

This doggy door works exceptionally well! It was easy to install with our patio door, although we didn't screw it in place as recommended because we'll have to remove it eventually for winter (it would not be insulated enough for our below-zero canadian winters, it's already cold in the kitchen in the morning in spring while the nights are currently around 5-10 degrees Celsius), so we just wedged small pieces of wood in the corners to make it more stable. We had to buy and install an extra "hairy"-type sealing strip to close the gaps between the patio door and the pet door as the strip that came with the door wasn't enough (see before and after pictures, and another picture of the sealing strip we used). It comes with a lock that you can install, but unfortunately, it was not compatible with our patio door's own lock, so we simply secure our patio door with a security bar at night, plus we lock our backyard's fence gates for added security. Our dogs love the freedom of being able to go play outside at will! It only took them one day to get used to it and get through the flap without hesitation. Overall, a very good product and well worth the price!

Its not bad. Didn’t slide that easily and some parts of the installation instructions were confusing- i didn’t do it fully correct but It does the job and cats quickly got used to the flap though sometimes they find it hard to open. I did have to purchase extra strips and seals to ensure that heat (humidity) stays out. The safety cover is great- would be even better if it didn’t need to be fully removed.
