Granddaughter’s favorite
We have our first grandchild and are always on the hunt for things to stimulate her small motor skill practice. She really enjoys picking these colorful loops up. She loves the noise they make when they clink together. Her favorite thing is to just toss them across the room and watch them roll. They seem to be made of a solid, lightweight wood. We wanted to make sure the paint was one that would not chip off or be caustic. Overall, we are very satisfied with this early childhood toy.

Beautiful open-ended materials
I was raised a montessori kid back in the 90s so if you like thinking far too hard about toys for your tiny human(s), hi, I have some input for you! These are awesome! It’s probably a sign of a good play material when you feel inspired by them — I particularly enjoy the sound and feel/texture. When I saw these, I couldn’t wait to get them because of my montessori upbringing - are these pool rings, dog bowls, a way to highlight a spot on a map or globe or a word in a book, a tracing object, a portal to another dimension/grandma’s house, a hat or halo for toys or myself, a viewfinder or spying glass or glasses or jewelry, something to stack, never mind the sorting and patterns you could make — lock me in a room with these and I’d be fine for hours. My 6 month old just wants to mouth on them and doesn’t find them very satisfactory for that purpose. She doesn’t pay much attention to them despite the fact they sometimes keep appearing in her skip hop activity center’s suction cup bee bowl where she doesn’t realize mama is training her fine motor skills as baby continuously scoops and briefly inspects (mouths) the never-ending stream of wooden rings that magically keep appearing in the bowl when she’s not looking… The woodgrain is just kinda gorgeous, zoom in on the photo if you like. Some of the colors have a more opaque finish, so yellow is very sheer and shows the woodgrain nicely whereas the magenta hides the woodgrain visually but seemingly pronounces its texture. The outer edges are smoother than the inner part of the rings; in the video you can see near my palm some small burrs on the red ring, for instance (and also hear my poor baby gumming on a rattle, we’ve been teething for two solid months, help) — but it’s no safety or splinter risk in my opinion. Just a good reminder that these are in fact made of a natural material. I noticed the burrs before I wiped them down with a damp cloth and set them on a towel to dry, and I didn’t notice the roughness getting worse, so that tells me (aside from how gorgeous the grain looks) that these are made of high quality wood. I anticipate that these will be a beloved play and learning material once she is older and perhaps when they have passed their peak usefulness for us, they can be repurposed into a craft material if we don’t pass them along as-is or decide to hang onto them for future generations. All in all, fun little beautiful wooden objects that are satisfying to get your hands on. I think most kids would find their playtime augmented quite nicely by these wooden rings.

Missing piece
Lovely rings- great for loose play parts! My only complaint is that one large blue ring was missing from our set.
