It's English and it's a blend, and it's lovely.
You'd expect a whisky called 'The One' to be a single malt, but confusingly this one is a blend. Even more confusingly, there seems to be different versions of 'The One', one of which is matured in Port barrels, and this one is the 'signature' version one of 'The One'So, it has a confusing name, it's a blend, and it's English, all of which might have purists running for the hills but you'd be missing something of a treat with this one. It's a very smooth whisky, with an almost christmassy taste of dried fruits and smoky evenings. There's a lot going on in the taste of this one, and I'm not eloquent enough to describe them all, but this is a drink to savour and consider as you drink it. For the price, the complexity of this whisky is remarkable. The Lake District is not short of clean, fresh water, and there's no reason why the products of this part of England should be in any way inferior to the spirits from further north. The makers hedge their bets slightly with the use of Scotch grain in this blend though! If you like good whisky, and aren't snobbish about where it comes from, then you should really try this one. Lovely.(If you found this review helpful, I'd really appreciate it if you could let me know by clicking the button below)

Give it a miss
Tried this at the distillery, wanted to like it but unfortunately it was pretty poor, bog standard blend, grossly over-priced and no better than a £15 - £18 blend. They are putting their money into the marketing and premises (which are great) without a decent product however its a miss for me.I felt compelled to write this review having read they are now claiming to be the English Macallan, nope, no where near...

Excellent whisky for summer drinking
Very enjoyable whisky, esp. suitable for warmer summer evenings. Smooth to drink, with just the slightest hint of Islay smoke to give body. I was getting vanilla, citrus and caramel on the palate when drunk neat.Presented in what looks like a traditional gin bottle which is distinctive.Worth £38 for a bottle? Maybe not tip-top value for money.

Amazing finely blended whiskey from The Lake district
The Lakes distillery make this amazing finely blended whiskey. The name is 'The One' It's a single blend of The Lakes single malt with select grain and malt whiskies from the Highlands. Malt blended with Scotch grain and malt whiskies. Filtered and bottled at natural colour. Personally sourced and blended in the Lake District by Dhavall complex yet balanced with hints of stone fruit, treacle and light spice. Presented in a light grey box with gold edging, would make a lovely gift.

Tastes beautiful!
Absolutely love this whisky, it’s got the perfect parlance of a warm but crisp flavour and it goes down every smoothly! I would say it’s 100% worth the price and would make a great present for someone who enjoys their whiskeys!

You'd never know this was a blend
I was apprehensive at first, but having tried The Lakes Single Malt I was willing to take the risk. You would honestly never know this was blended whisky. Very flavoursome and smooth - incredibly enjoyable, made even better by the fact this whisky is being made in England. Great whisky coming out of this distillery.
