Great midsized baitcaster.
Only have a few trips out with this reel so I can't address longevity but the reel is smooth and solid for inshore fishing. The 8 to 1 is extremely fast but manageable, I love the left hand retrieve and power handle and zero backlash issues even casting 4 - 5 ounces. This is my second picscifun reel and I'm sure there will be more added to my arsenal. Overall great reels.

My first baitcaster reel Piscifun Alijoz 300
My first baitcaster reel and in 3 times practicing in the street, I went peacock bass fishing in 3 different rivers along the border of Colombia with Venezuela. Only 1 very minor backlash the whole week of fishing. Great reel! No problem with a 22lb peacock bass, great drag system. Caught many fish during the week in addition to hard hitting peacock bass including payara (the vampire fish), piranha and yamu. The Alijoz 300 performed spot on everyday. Used daily to cast lures from 1/2oz to 2-1/2oz and trolled 1-1/2oz and 2-1/2oz lures several times during the week of fishing. Great value for the price in my opinion.

Seems like a winner so far!
Spent many years tournament bass fishing and was pretty successful at it, I tried many baitcasters and always went back to Shimano my favourite being the older Chronarch CH100B, I even found the Curado 200D wanting (I've never fished with the newer versions). I tried the other brands and could never get consistent casting with them like the Chronarchs. I was what is classed as a power fisherman and would make in excess of 2000 casts in a day.A few years ago I got bored of bass fishing and started Saltwater fishing (can't say I'm any good at it yet), so switched to spinning reels but I miss fishing with baitcasters when spending hours slinging lures off the boat. Was very keen on getting a Shimano Tranx 300 but they are just too expensive for me at the moment. So I got my new Alijos 300 just after Xmas and went out yesterday to give it a good run. I spooled it with 300m of 20lb braid mounted on an old Shimano Compre 7ft MH Extra fast action and so far I am pretty impressed. Had a 5/8 oz or 18g spoon/jig rigged up and I was very pleased with how well the reel performs. Gets good distance and I had no overruns with the brakes set on 4 (I do control the spool with my thumb though). The reel pitches nicely too.Just caught a bunch of small 1lb to 2lb Bluefish yesterday so nothing to really test the drag but it seems pretty smooth with lots of fine adjustment, certainly seems to have a pretty serious drag as advertised.Reel looks lovely and feels like its put together very well. The power handle and larger frame size will take a bit of getting used to but for it's intended purpose is required. The high speed retrieve works well for burning saltwater lures.Considering it's large spool it casts very well and feels robust, I give it a 5 star rating for now but have dropped it to 4 until it shows how well it stands up to the saltwater environment. Once it's fought a few drag burners and seen a bit more saltwater I will update the review. If it stands the test of time then the $90 after discount price tag is a no brainer if you're looking for a heavy duty low profile baitcaster.

Works great
Ive used this for a few months. I put 40 lb braid on it and use it on a catfishing rod. I also use this rod/reel to cast a Deeper brand sonar. it casts well and has fast retrieve. I've only caught a few small fish, but ive had no issues. I would recommend.

Finally, a solid budget musky baitcaster!
I purchased the reel from Amazon after months of self debate. I spent hours researching baitcasters that would stand up to the demands of my musky fishing needs. I fish alot of rivers in PA that have bottom snags and that also places higher demand on all of my equipment.I pulled the trigger on the Piscifun Alijoz 300 because of aluminum frame, duel worm shaft stabilizer bars, magnetic braking, 33 lb drag, and abundance of reel space for line.I usually run 65lb. Power Pro.I opened the box and immediately reoiled and greased all parts (simple maintenance). I placed the reel on a Berry Pro medium heavy 10ft rod. After placing new line on the reel I took it to the Alleghney River casting from shore. It met the demands of all sized baits, large rubber bulldogs and Medussas, bucktails, jerk, twitch, dive and rise baits, etc.Very smooth line release, quiet retrieve and I love the weight and balace of the reel on the 10' rod plus the feel in my hand.To summerize: I fish several times a week.Only time will tell if this reel will hold up to my demands. I paid $100 for this tool. I could have spent $400 on a Shimano Tranx or Diawa Lexa.If this lasts 2 or 3 years the way I fish I think it's a no Brainer to purchase.UPDATE:After fishing with this for over a year now, it has been fantastic in all of aspects. Just keep it cleaned and oiled and it should last a lifetime.

Jigging reel
I own 2 of these reels. Both with the 8/1 ratio. Have matched them with Daiwa harrier rods ( M and ML). I can just fit a 300 yard spool of 30lb dextron kastking on them. I mention the brands because this the combo I went with and think I hit one out of the park. Have been using this combo lingcod and rockfish jigging off reefs up to 500 ft deep. I’m enjoying using such a light rod and reel, as the bigger reels in the picture next to them are used for the same thing. Yes the bigger reels hold more line, but this reel holds plenty if your willing to go down in test. Trust me 30 lb braid is plenty strong. The 8/1 ratio is nice as I’m fishing as deep as 500 ft. These are big rockfish and nice lings, pulling doubles and triples some times and the reel handles it fine. I owned one of the 2 reels for over a year. The only problem I’ve had is the knob for the handle came off. The screw that holds it fell out. I pushed it back on and will find another screw or use some glue. It’s not an issue for me, nor do I feel it changes my review. Just pointing it out.

Great reel
I needed a larger baitcaster that was salt water proof, after reading the online reviews for the Piscifun 300 I decided to take a chance and order one. What a reel, best decision i have made, casts like a dream no issues with the airbrake system and birds nests. Build quality is excellent I would definitely purchase Piscifun reels in the future and save a considerable amount of money.

FANTASTIC smooth & powerful reel
I'm a Baitcaster user from way back and had two when I bought the #300 being a larger capacity reel.Have got rid of both existing Baitcasters I had as the #300 Alijos is just so much better in every possible way. When adjusted correctly this reel will cast 40 plus meters and stop without feathering the line, and will NOT cause birds-nest either, the magnetic brake works just so much better than any other reel I've used. Can't recommend this reel highly enough.(have since bought the lower gear ratio reel for off shore fishing)Paul

You won't regret it!
The Alijoz 300 is the only reel we trust for our Salt Water Kayak Salmon Fishing. We've used them exclusively for the past 3 years, putting them through every type of abuse imaginable and they still keep coming back for more!Salt water ready, tons of drag, lightweight but solid enough to bring in some serious fish. All at one of the most competitive prices you'll find.Piscifun hit a home run with this one!
