Q: Does this have the cvlife embroidery tag on the sling?

Yes. I also bought Brand: AmeriGun Club, same sling different tag. Both I was buying on roughly half off sale.

Q: Why is one end stitched closed?

I ended up cutting off the excess on the stitched closed end in order to use it. You can leave the loop in place, but then you have this extra loop just begging to get hung up in the gun safe or brush. Not impressed.

Q: Will this work for a Marlin 336 in place of installing swivels? I do not want to alter the rifle by installing swivels.

No , sorry, it won't work without swevels
