Gracie China Rose Chintz Porcelain 3-Ounce Small Petite Espresso/Demitasse Cup and Saucer with Gold Trim Set of 4

We recently bought these to go with my four year old daughter's "big girl tea set" and have had them a few months now. They've survived dropping on carpet, clanking "cheers" about 100 times by now, and clumsy 4 year old setting the table a good or so 15 times. They are VERY sturdy, and look better in person than they do in the pictures here. I almost gave it 4 stars because they were smaller than I expected, but the seller stated they are only 3oz, so I can't drop a star simply because I *assumed* I knew what 3oz looked like haha.... My suggestion on that would be for the seller to add a size-comparison photo, maybe like a tennis ball in, or next to, one of the cups.

I just got these today and they are beyond my expectations! They are so well made, just the size I needed and are all slightly different patterns. I am so happy I purchased these. These are going to be great in my modern farmhouse style kitchen which is under renovation!

I love espresso, and I found these very feminine, classic designs to be quite delightful.

These cups were purchased for a wedding favor for guests and therefore many were purchased. They were received in many different boxes, as it seems the quantity requested came from many different supply houses. As a result, some of the lightweight boxes were not very well handled and I received more than 10 % of the shipment broken....mainly the cup handles and a few with some chips on the rims. Thank goodness I had ordered more than was required (as recommended), but in 90 sets ordered 360 cups and saucers , there were 40 broken cups (10% - or equivalent of 10 sets...) I would like to suggest that when large orders are required, that packaging and handling be a PRIMARY CONSIDERATION. This loss was quite a shock.... A FRAGILE STICKER and PROPER INSIDE PACKING MATERIAL would help. But the cups are beautiful, and will make a nice gift when they each contain a cupcake for each guest.

Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me! So, this is the second time I've purchased this cute set of small tea cups and saucers and the second time that the handles all broke off - all as in every last one of them. Yes I can super glue them back on but it's such a shame they break so easily. Pity. Especially since the larger cups were fine.

I read with trepidation other reviewers' experiences with up to 10% breakages but I got lucky and had no issues. I would have to say the packaging is not fantastic - it's all corrugated cardboard. I think they could get their breakage rate lower if they shipped in expanded polystyrene. However, as I said, the packaging did the job for me. Each cup and saucer has a slightly different design. You can see this in the photograph but the differences are more marked in real life. Each one is exquisite. I bought them for Turkish coffee although they would be perfect for espresso too. I commented to my wife that they would make a wonderful present for a young girl, however there would be tears when one of them is inevitably broken. She replied that they made a wonderful present for a fifty year old woman too :-) They claim to be dishwasher safe. I'm not going to test that claim. I would hate to break one. I bought these with some gold plated demi tea-spoons "HIC Gold Plated Rose Demi Spoon - Set of 4" which complement the teacups very well. The product description says that delivery can take from 1 to 4 months. Mine arrived in 7 days without expedited shipping.

These were just the prettiest cup and saucers. Reminds me of really expensive bone China the average person can’t afford. I displayed the set for showing, not for using. This would make a great thank you gift for weddings. I think most people would be happy with this.

These are cute! they are small, but i bought them for my daughters tea party birthday. I wanted something that didnt break the bank, but i needed 2 sets so our idea behind these was that the kids would have fun filling them up more often, I love them for myself though too. None were broken when they came, some of the surfaces are a bit rough.
