Oregon 20-100 Platinum Gatorline Supertwist Trimmer Line, .095-Inch, 1 Pound

This is up there with my pricey but great precut mtd .105 trimmer string but slightly cheaper. Its rated for up to 1/4 inch branches !!! love it !!

I have been using sting trimmers for a very long time, and I've used many different kinds of lines. Some have been more effective or more durable than others, but none have been as noticeably different as this line is. The noise level is greatly reduced compared to other lines, and that is immediately obvious, but very significantly, this line consistently follows a very narrow path that allows dramatically better control both for cutting the item that you wish to cut where you ant to cut them while avoiding items that you wish to avoid. After only a modest amount of time using this line, it quickly became apparent that the line will last very much longer than other lines because it can isn't flailing around hitting a wide band in order to cut the intended weeds. My early guess is that I will probably be using much less than half as much of this line as I would using ordinary round string.

Not sure if its my technique or my Ryobi trimmer - but getting the auto unwind to work is painful. So I don't know if to blame the string or the trimmer - but the auto-unwind feature does not work the way it supposed to and the durability is OK around concrete sidewalks & bricks.

Foresweared every weedwacking again until they came up with a Kevlar or Spectra fiber based string I could use... I have an electric Weedeater S12 using a .065 gauge cord. These normally spin much faster than gas types. It helps to point out I live in Florida so the stuff gets thick pretty quick. My yard is surrounded by metal fencing. This creates a problem where I'm constantly feeding my spools trimmer line.Previously bought a thicker plastic, hexagonal one. The package was gone in less than two weeks.I was worried about the .105 trimmer line fitting the .065 fitting the spool. Choose this because strength increases exponentially strength therefore even a fractional increase in cross sectional area goes a long way.The line was very stiff. To solve the problem of inserting it through the anchoring hole, I Used mini-pliers to cram it into the tiny opening.Afterwards, there was that spool slot keeping the trimmer line fixed so you can push it through the exit hole. This part, only required a very tiny bit of gouging to accommodate Supertwist.There's no way to figure out how much line must be cut before spooling due to thickness and stiffness of the trimmer line. needed. Saved the cutting until the trimmer line could be put through the hole where the line exits the machine. FYI: This method will leave a mess of the rest of the trimmer line in the package due to the tension.This product exceeded expectations. I hadn't done any work with the weedwacker until I received this product the first of August. There was a lot of remedial work involving 1 1/2 feet grass hugging my 11500 square foot property. The amount of line used in the operation was only 5 inches. The rest looks relatively unscathed.Highly recommended-

Works great keeps up the good head speed on my electric trimmer cuz through normal weeds and grass might need a little heavier string if it's real thick stuff but overall I'd buy it again works great Love it

Maybe its me reading all the reviews that I thought this would be a very strong line better than the one that came with the trimmer. But its not, it's probably the same or less. It breaks and ware more or as fast as the original one.Don't get me wrong, its good quality, better than others I have used, but is was expecting something more stronger. Maybe next time I'll try the Husqvarna one...

Does break when hitting hard objects, I guess that's what you get using 2mm trimmer line.

Wow this stuff lives up to its claims and is exceeding my expectations. I finally ran out of the green junk that came loaded on my weed eater so needed something to replace it with. This is WAY more durable than the line it had before. I've trimmed my backyard twice already and haven't had to let out more line yet. It also doesn't fray like my old line did. I only wish it came in smaller spools, because I don't think I'll ever use all of this up...
