Spiritual Warfare: Christians, Demonization and Deliverance Paperback – October 4, 2011

Church fam- Read! This! Book!Such an incredible resource for Christ-followers of all backgrounds and traditions! Especially for those like me who have not known what to make of demons and demonization. Now I do. We have authority through Christ! I always heard this and now I understand more of what that looks like.This book is richly rooted in the Word, is very practical, concise, and thorough, and provides real life examples from decades of experience in deliverance ministry. I really appreciate how from the get go he said that his way wasn't the only, one way period... but he was sharing his experience and backing it up with the Bible...in other words, his humility rather than pride really stood out to me. So many authors these days like to toot their own horn...he did not. He made much of Christ and kept pointing to Him and HIS authority and power throughout the entire book.Read it !!!! :-)

I have to say, I wasn't sure about all the spiritual warfare fanatics out there, no disrespect. I understand there's a devil, demons, and I see in scripture how Jesus cast out demons, and the disciples did. However, after ready this book, I'm more than convinced that this stuff is real and common, not just in Africa, but here in America. I've never had any experiences with anyone regarding what the author shares, until I read this book. I read it and also listened to the Audio book version. Great book and inspiring. I told my wife. Then a believing couple involved in our church and friends had mentioned to us that the wife was experiencing contortions of her body, speaking in different languages, no control of her body, which she had never done before after doing brain spotting therapy. She is not like this at all before. Our church doesn't really talk too much about spiritual warfare. I told her I just read this book on Spiritual warfare, and we all met together. I even tried to contact the author of this book at his church recently via email to assist, but I'm sure he gets these emails often. I feel so ill-equipped. But we had some of our members praying for her after church. Her husband was trying to help her, she was strong, she was trying to puke, contorting, burping, glazing at us. She was confessing sin, asking God to help. We were crying and praying of her. The Pastor and I went over their home this week and prayed over their home. I made notes of Karl Payne's essential systemic approach in about 6 pages, like cheat sheets, to help others, but I have so many questions. I would say this book has taught me what I need to know, but I feel there needs to be a follow-up book. Great book.

And not just biblically based but grounded in the Spirit of the Scriptures. For those who criticize the book for not having enough Scripture... Are we reading the same book? Dr. Payne grounds his arguments thoroughly in Scripture.Critical Review:- Author begins the book saying he has over 25 years experience then later in the book says he has over forty years (perhaps this is indicative of the span of time it took him to write the book. It may be that at the beginning of the book he had 25 years and by the time the book was ready to publish, he had 40 years experience)- Author emphasizes over and over again the necessity of addressing each dimension of spiritual warfare (world (social), flesh (psychological and physiological) and the devil (supernatural) equally. However, about half the book deals with the topic of demonization.Not complaints. Just critical observations.This book was very very helpful. It is a book I plan to keep referring to for years to come in the ongoing battle of spiritual warfare.Thank you Dr. Karl Payne. And thank the Lord for using you to produce this to help Christians learn how to fight.

One of the best books on spiritual warfare. Every Christian needs this book!! It is life changing, will read again. UPDATE:However, if you really want to know about spiritual warfare, you need to check out books by African authors such as Erikia Mukisa or Dr. Daniel Olukoya or Daniel Okpara. A book called Snatched from Satan's Claws by Nancy Koech is also really enlightening. They will teach you what is really going on in the world of Satan and it's not just for African people!! It's happening all over the world!! May God open our eyes in the West to what demons are doing to Western Christians nowadays!!

It is Biblical, sober and with clear definitions, following a concise, well structured and suficiently exemplified methodology. The best and most practical book on spiritual warfare I read. It is indispensible for our increasingly demonized times. The church has been in confusion and neglect of this comission for too long. Every christian has authorithy in Christ Jesus to resist the devil and its minions. Based on his extensive experience, the author argues that deliverance should not be an exorcist circus. Once proper conditions are met, demons are bound to obey the command to leave, orderly and in silence as the defeated enemy they are.

Sehr gutes Buch über Demonisierung aus Sicht eines Baptisten geschrieben. Vielen Menschen kann sicherlich damit geholfen werden, zumal wichtige Tipps im Umgang mit Versuchung gegeben werden.

Needs to be read no matter what your understanding of Spiritual Warfare.Would recommend it to everyone.Truely enlightening. And not over the top excellent.

This book helped me and my sister drastically. I highly recommend.
