Italian Army, 1940-1945

This book is amazing! I want to congratulate the creators of this book.Italians had some amazing uniforms during the world war 2.

THE FIRST OF THREE BOOKS ON THE ITALIAN ARMY DURING WORLD WAR 2. WELL WRITTEN, EASY TO READ IN ONE SITTING, AND CHOCK FULL OF DATA ON RANKS AND INSIGNIA. CERTAINLY MAKES ME WANT TO PURCHASE THE OTHER TWO VOLUMES IN THE SERIES

Very good read with a ton of information and many great pictures and illustrations that help you understand the subject. Much more information than was expected in this book. It complements the other volumes on this subject.

I don't understand why it is so difficult to make up a diagram of Italian infantry combat gear/equipment, but for some reason every book on the subject of the WWII Italian Army lacks this important bit of information or details on the types of gear the infantry used and wore.

There isn't a lot of publication focussed on the Italian Army in WW2 and Osprey's Men-at-Arms series finally decided to include it in its latest book.Philip S Jowett has done a good job in describing the uniforms and rank insignia of the Italian Army and Stephen Andrew's colour plates are of very high quality. An interesting book for WW2 historian and modelling enthusiats. Photos and colour plates are very rare references.I am looking forward to volume II in this series.
