Super quiet and very effective. My small older soul pup HATES getting her nails trimmed, and I mean she loathes anything touching her paws. She makes you aware of this too! But this made it a fast enough process that she wasn't upset with me longer than a few minutes. It rounded out her nails nicely and it seems that my pup has more pep in her step. It came pre-charged, but it shouldn't take long to get to full battery. Its not to heavy, but is sturdy and easy to use.

I have bought several grinders over the years, and they all were worthless. This grinder is almost as powerful as a Dremel, but not as loud. This thing has paid for itself after 1st try. I have 3 Cattle dogs that I used to take to Pet Smart to get their nails done every other month. Now the 1st week of every month, I take out my 4-foot square table, put a dog bed on top in the back yard, pull up a seat and clip and then grind their nails smooth. After charging I have enough power to do 3 squirming dogs and probably could use the next month. But I charge the night before anyways.

This does have a charging cable with it. However, heaven only knows where it may be now. One thing I would suggest is that it came with a pouch and an extra grinder wheel. Thankfully, I ordered a second one when I ordered this, but with 2 dogs, meaning 8 paws, it tends to wear down fast. Only issue now, is not sure where the charging cable went. I have a feeling it got tossed out with the box as I was trying to keep everything together. This is why 4 stars as I really would suggest a pouch of some kind to keep everything together. It's not very loud and it does the job, much better than clippers. I have a set of those as well, but it's not worth the fight. This works better.

I have a 120 lb red nose and he hates is nails trimmed. Ive used conventional trimmers and it's always a battle and time consuming. I've used a cordless mini Dremel grinder and it was too loud it scared him too much to trim. I now us this adjustable grinder and it's quieter than any other one I've ever heard. Has a safe guard so I don't go to deep and makes it easier to grind through the curve. Game changer, hes never bothered by it. Makes trimming a breeze. Haven't had long so don't know about actually battery life or product longevity yet but for the price it's worth it. Super light, quick and quick charge.

I bought this nail grinder for my cat as an alternative to the scissors. The grinder itself is high quality and there are clear instructions for how to use it. The sound is not too loud but my cat is very sound sensitive, so I wasn't able to use this on her. However, I am not holding that against the product and really should have thought of that in advance. I've given it to a friend and she absolutely loves it.

Nail grinder appears to be well made and is much quieter than my 20 + year old grinder that still works. Unfortunately my eyesight isn’t that great and knew that I needed one with lights on it so I could see the nail. Felt I could not give higher stars since I couldn’t evaluate actual use and durability.

Background: My dog is a 9 year old lab who has always hated having her nails trimmed, but I’ve noticed it has gotten worse with age. I have tried clippers myself with both her and I having extreme anxiety with absolutely no results, usually ending in tears for myself. She has gotten to the point where we would have to bring her to the vet to get her nails trimmed only after she is given trazodone, which still makes it a whole dramatic ordeal because she doesn’t respond to it well even after taking 4 throughout 12 hours per the vet’s instructions. The vet would have to muzzle her and pick her up (70lbs) and put her in a head/leg lock position with me and her dad comforting her. Even then, she would flail and kick her legs. Each nail trim with the vet would result in her being scared and uncomfortable, me being heart broken because I felt like I had no other option, and the vet and assistant(s) stressed for their own safety. Actual Review: We have had this tool for two days. I wanted to slowly introduce it to her, so i set it on the table for a couple of hours, set it on the floor, let her sniff and nudge it with her nose, turned it on and off and on again multiple times and let it run while she examined it. We decided to do one paw a night. First night she did not like it, but was able to let us get a paw done (i would’ve NEVER thought!!) we still had to hold her in a sort of bear hug with me hugging around her hips with her leg in between my arms and paw in my hands. It works easier if you hold the top of the nail while it is on the file to reduce the “wobbling” of the nail on the file. We gave her multiple breaks and treats to keep her motivated and comfortable. Day 2 was almost flawless!!! The other foot we got two nails done in the same positioning as the day prior, she let us do two nails in one go! We then gave her a break and a treat. Then she went and sat on her bed. I went over to her with the tool and was able to sort of hug around her loosely and she let me do the rest of her toes without running away, kicking, or flailing!!! This tool is a blessing and has allowed me to feel like I can make my baby girl comfortable while taking care of her and I am so proud of her for being so brave! The drill is quiet, but does get louder when against the nail. It is very similar to the sound of an electric nail file at a nail salon. The size is perfect to navigate with and the fast speed helps get a nail done quickly. 100/10!!!

What a game changer! I was taking my dog to Petco for her nail trims and paying $25.00 a month, now I just do it at home. Very light weight, not loud or aggressive, has settings for different speeds and has a safety guard that I think is so necessary and smart. Love the usb charge too. It's nice to be able to keep up with the nails and not have to let them grow so long before you cut them, so I would say this is very convenient as well and also saves you money.

It’s not too loud and after the 3rd use our miniature dachshund didn’t even pull his paws away or try to get away like he does with the clippers. His stress level is normally very high when it comes time to get his nails trimmed but this time when we used this file he was very relaxed. Even closed his eyes a few times. Highly recommend! It’s taking a bit of time for me to make sure I’m holding it on the right angle but it’s easy to use and is definitely working to shorten his nails. I would buy again!
