Reviews seem focused on what it might do, but has anyone had experience where an item was lost and the tag was used to reconnect you and your item?

In the past year+ we have been offering these tags, there are several recovery cases where the tag worked as expected. However, the product is intended for others (officers, good samaritans) who intend to find the owner. If the item the tag is on is stolen - the thief removes the tag and any identifying ribbons, etc. first thing - so it is not an anti-theft product. One can get these lojack kind of devices, but they are expensive to own and require ongoing maintenance.

Could I also attach it to my dog's collar?

Sure, this is one of many applications for Dynotag . If someone finds a pet they can scan the Dynotag or have someone , with an app for reading tags, scan this tag and they will be able to find info on the pet's owner.

will it work if it is inside the luggage?

if someone take a picture of the qr code and scan from another location than the real one? it is possible?

No need to take the picture of the QR code - the unique web address of every tag is printed on the tag - just visiting that with a web browser would show the tag contents. The QR code just contains a machine readable version of the web address - and launches a web browser to visit the tag's address. It's a typing shortcut for phones.There is a password scheme to help make sure the person entering the tag is actually next to the tag.It is also possible to have the tags activated but in a "Disabled" state - where they return no information until the tag owner "Enables" the tag by managing it in their owner account. All is done using a web browser and works on mobile devices / home computers alike...
