Columbia Women's Sun Goddess Booney Hat, Moisture Wicking Fabric, UV Sun Protection

This is the first sun hat I’ve bought that didn’t make me feel like a total clown! I’m petite with an almost child-sized noggin, and this hat isn’t baggy or sliding off - and I didn’t even have to cinch it down to the max!It came packed folded, but immediately shapes well on my head, feels comfortable and light, and should be perfect for travel. This hat is also light as a feather, and doesn’t feel at all choking when worn down around the neck.As others have mentioned, the string is only a plastic slider, it doesn’t cinch in or lock. I do imagine I’d have to knot the strings just below the slider under windier conditions.

The hat fit was as expected and it seems well made. It folds and packs well. It only gets 3 stars because it arrived with a strong chemical odor. It was strong enough to smell up a large room. I would have returned it if I had the time to exchange it before I needed to wear it. I have washed it a total of 3 times and have had it in the sun for many hours. While the odor is better, it is still there. I think by now it should have quit off-gassing. There cannot possibly be a need to treat a hat with such odorous chemicals. Since Columbia hats do not smell in stores, I have to question the origin of this hat.

Love the hat, but I didn't give it the 5 stars because it's not as big as the mens hat. My hubby has the men's booney and it's looser and fits lower on your head to better protect from sun. Side by side the men's hat is Taller in the head compartment, so it fits deeper on your head.Still, nice hat, it gets 4 stars.

After recent removal of a basal carcinoma on my forehead, I needed more sun protection for a recent 3 week trip to a tropical location. I wore this hat every day. It was comfortable, lightweight, and has a drawstring to adjust the circumference size and chin strap to help keep it on in a stiff wind. It got soaked in the ocean, washed in a sink, packed flat in a suitcase and still kept its shape. Very pleased, and expect to get much more use from it.

I love this hat! It is lightweight and provides excellent protection from the sun. I wore it while gardening and kayaking and it was perfect. I also wore it once to walk the dog and received a few snickers from the neighbors- so, not the most fashionable hat. But for keeping cool and protecting your face from the sun, it gets 5 stars. I have a wider head than average so I used the adjustable band, and the hat fits fine now. At one point while gardening the hat did blow off my head, so I tie a knot under the chin strap to keep it secure. Not a big deal. Also, I bought this hat from Amazon for half the price of what it was being sold for by Columbia. Not sure why it was such a good deal, but the low price definitely contributes to my satisfaction!

I got this hat for a Florida beach trip. I've had stage zero Melanoma, so I have to be super cautious when in the sun. Basically, I live in hats and long sleeve shirts. I took several hats on my trip and ended up wearing this one most of the time. Its light weight, breathes, and seemed to look good with almost anything I wore. I even wore it swimming in the gulf.THE RIM is soft and foam filled to float. It doesn't have a shape wire. It curls in all the right places when I pull the draw string. The rim can, and will, flip up when the wind blows, but not nearly as bad as my Northface hat does. Its wide enough to provide excellent protection without being too big or funny looking.TIGHTENING: The back of the hat has a cinch to be able to tighten it that way in addition to the chin cord.CLEANING: I have washed this several times. To me a hat that cannot be washed is worthless. This one I throw into the washer and let it air dry. It drys quickly.

This is my second hat in this particular Columbia style as I sadly lost my first. It’s breatheable and washable and great for activities such as kayaking although I wear it as my beach hat, also. I ordered the white because it was so much cheaper and it was filthy after a few wears, but washed easily. It’s not as dorky looking as some hats of this type but big enough to keep the sun off my face and neck.

So disappointed in this Columbia hat. It is so cheaply made you can't even wear it. If I had not pulled the tags off it would be going back. It is so lightweight that the rim has no support to stay vertical. It just falls down over your face. The top is so thin, there is no way it can block UV rays. DO NOT Waste your money. This comes from a girl who wears a Columbia 4 times a week kayaking to keep the sun off her. The quality is just not there with this product. I almost wonder if it is a knock off.

Me quedó bien, aunque tengo la cabeza un poco grande, me encantó que tenga protección uv ya que trabajo en campo y me ha funcionado muy bien.

Adquiri dos piezas para mi esposa y mi mamá ambas están encantadas ya que son de una excelente calidad como es ya costumbre con la marca Columbia, de facil guardado y con el plus de contar tecnología para bloquear los rayos del sol.

I love this hat. I wasn't sure if it would fit as my head is around 22" around, but it fit perfect. However, it's also adjustable, so that would be helpful if your head is a bit smaller than mine. The chin strap is perfect for windy days and we seem to be having more of those. It's also cute when it's on. It's practical and makes me smile when I'm wearing it.

Great hat. It is a women's hat but fits me great and doesn't look like a ladies hat when I'm wearing it...didn't know it was a women's hat until I replaced the original one I bought years ago. :-)

Me encanto el sobrero que fue para mi esposa, se ve muy bonito y cumple con la parte de protección solar, volvería a comprar ese modelo.

Buen sombrero protege muy bien del sol, en climas tropicales si llega a sentirse caliente pero lo normal, pero preferible el calor a tener el sol

The cap bowl isn't deep enough and the brim is so light weight it blows up in the breeze.

Queda muy bien al tamaño de la cabeza, no se mueve, ni vuela pero el ala no es tan dura como pensé, se alcanza a doblar

Este color queda con todo, el sombrero se puede doblar y es súper fácil de transportar. Si se moja se seca muy rápido. Súper recomendable

Muy buen sombrero, muy recomendable para la alberca, se seca muy rapido, es muy ligero y comodo, y lo mejor es que lo metes a la maleta y no se deforma.
