I used these lights just for decoration. It does not come with the base plug, which you need. I just used a base charger and plugged in the wall. Its a button that changes the light settings, no remote.

Beautiful lights
The lights are beautiful and fairly easy to use. I do wish there was a way to customize the timer setting more. Like select the amount of time on vs off but that is really my only criticism. I had trouble figuring out which settings did what things but I am sure it wont take long to get used to. I got them for Christmas décor but honestly might just keep them up.

It does not have a way to connect to more lights. Only real downside.
I found a way to connect more that just one set. But I have to use a portable charger with 2 usb receivers. Other than that, they work and look just fine.
