nuLOOM Handmade Ombre Shag Area Rug, 5x8, Turquoise

This rug is AWESOME! I am not a rug fanatic but I wanted something that was pretty, modern and easy to clean. This was perfect. The colors on the rug are fantastic. The gradient is visually very pleasing. I goes with my red and grey sofa perfectly. The yellow side of the rug is more a dusky yellow ( even mustard maybe) and it fades into grey with some yellow threads. The colors are muted in a good way, which I appreciate. Less cleaning and no visible dirt. So yay! The material is synthetic. So its fairly easy to clean. We haven't had any major spills (fingers crossed). But I don't think its the kind to stain easily. The fibers are about 3/4th of an inch. This is a fluffy rug.The fibers don't go flat and because the rug is so dense it feels plush and not cheap. This rug is OH SO soft.I basically sit on the couch and let my feet be in rug heaven every chance I get. A rug pad is recommended for this rug but I think I am doing Ok without it. I have furniture atop so it can't move and the shag is long enough under the feet to not feel the ground. Although if you have kids or pets (which I have none of) you might want to use one. Last but not the least. The price. It's unbeatable. For this price I expected a cheap synthetic rug. I got a master piece!

This rug is absolutely gorgeous! Seems to be good quality. I'm only 2 weeks in, but no shedding even though it's in a high-traffic area. It is VERY plush and comfortable - makes my feet feel heavenly when walking on it. The color is as shown; however, to clarify, the ombre is from turquoise to light gray. That end color is not white, which I was kinda hoping for, but it works regardless.

This is the best rug I have found in the $200 price range. I tried many. Pros - looks fantastic - very soft to touch - minimal shedding Cons - I originally ordered a replacement for this rug as there were a few areas where the rug was pulled or the sides of the rug were slightly exposed. The replacement rug was MUCH worse in both respects and I ultimately decided to just keep the original one. Also be aware the variation between the 2 rugs I received was substantial both in terms of shades of color and pattern. This is NOT like a printed t shirt where mainly all products are the same. - not packed as securely as some other brands rugs. My replacement order came with a notecard sized gah right through th middle of the rug. Despite the negatives, this rug still easily earns the full five stars. It just surpassed all other rugs I tried at this price point by that great a margin.

Listen up. Toxic stench? No, mild plastic smell that youd get from any plastic product. Smells like new carpet. It airs out in two days. My pets like to claw at the floors. I bought this so they could be rough with it. Its held up just fine. Occassionally ill see little bits of thread, but thats once in a great while when they just really want to tear something up. Silky, leaves patterns? Yes. Like any microfiber blanket or shag carpet, you will see lines and patterns, depending on the direction of the fibers. The kids love "drawing" in different directions. The animals love how soft it is. I love the colors and how plush it is. Its a good quality rug for the price. If anyone says otherwise, they may have gotten a defective rug or they may be a snob. Use your best judgment. I highly reccomend

You know how you want to try out something but it feels a little risky? That was me, when my husband chose this rug. I thought, "Yeah, that could be cool, but what if it just doesn't work? I mean, ombre in a rug might be a bad idea. Oh my gosh. I am so glad I went with his idea. This rug is gorgeous. We get so many compliments on our home and the bright colors. The rug feels lovely, too. Our kids could just hang out here (and they do) for hours. Also, I bought "Turquoize Ombre Semi Sheer Curtains" to go with it, and they work great. The turquoise int he curtains isn't a *perfect match" to the rug but it feels that way when the sun is shining in through the windows. Here's a picture of my kids hanging out on the rug.

We purchased this rug to go in our teenage daughter's room and it matches her purple and seafoam green ombre curtains perfectly. The color is more of a greenish aqua (dark seafoam?) which is what we wanted so we're very pleased with the color match. The rug is also extremely soft which our daughter (and our cats) wanted. The only cosmetic issue the rug has is that the edges are not totally straight on the short sides (at least on our rug) and on the gray short side of the ombre the pile is not covering the binding of the rug. But since it's a pretty inexpensive rug for the 5 x 8 size and is destined for a teen's room we were pleased despite the minor manufacturing issues. Overall if you have a kid's room that needs a soft and vibrant rug at an affordable price, this rug is great.

UPDATED REVIEW: So I got the runner again and this time it was a hit. It is extremely plush and soft. It shows footprints easily, so it may look discolored in my photo from the pile being stepped on or not. Because I know it has the ability to get stained, I sprayed with Scotchguard before placing in my kitchen. Overall, happy with second purchase. ------------------------------------------ FIRST REVIEW: ONE STAR The rug itself looked just as pictured; very pretty ombre effect. The only issue? It was filthy. I tried saving money and o r d e r ed a u s e d one. I was extremely surprised that there was no q u a l i t y c o n t r o l . I don't know what I was thinking, anyway. Not the most s a n i t a r y to buy a u s e d rug anywhere. You never know what comes with it. I ended up returning the same day and purchasing a n e w one.

I got this rug used, and it came in excellent shape. The yarn is super soft and thick. My dog basically moved in the second we put it on the ground, and he has access to the couch or a dog bed. My only concern is that when I walk on it with just socks, its almost kinda slippery because its so soft. Also, the colors are great and match my decor super well, but I am nervous about the lighter places on the rug staining. I have never had a rug this light colored before (the center is basically white) and I just know I am going to spill something on it! I have only had it for a few weeks so I will update my review when I drop my next glass of red wine.
