Very good product and fully compatible with GE refrigerators. The kit includes everything needed and works just like the original parts. Since installing it, the defrost issue has been completely resolved. Good quality and great price. I would definitely buy it again.

I purchased this in Sept 2024 and it's still going strong in June 2025. Installation is easy (just watch a YouTube video). Definitely works as intended for the cost. I didn't notice any sort of odor. Something to note, my thermostat was also blown. I had replaced it with the one that came in this parts kit despite it saying it wasn't compatible (although it was similar) and it worked like a charm. Update: Mid December 2025 - Still going strong.

This freezer repair kit was exactly what I needed. After removing the components from the refrigerator, I noticed that the heating element looked discolored and had intermittent continuity. I replaced all of components in the kit and the refrigerator/freezer is working like new.

I have a GE 2 sided refrigerator/freezer unit. The freezer side would leak water and began not getting cold which lead the refrigerator side to do the same. I was told the defrosting system needed replacing. This purchase was a game changer. I was able to do a DIY project and this inexpensive set saved me over $300. Perfect fit and everything is working perfectly.

Original review and update down below. Jan 2023, my freezers heater went bad and it was the first time I ever had to change it. I found my model on Youtube and decided to try and thankfully I was able to fix it after buying a $20 kit. I purchased FROM A DIFFERENT SELLER. That heater lasted us around 11 months. When my freezer froze over again in Nov of 2023 (11 months later), I was able to move the items, quick open the back and defrost the coils with a hairdryer in about 10 minutes. I ordered this item from this seller, had it the next day and had it installed in 10 minutes since the freezer back wall was already open. Next morning I woke up to a working freezer. I didnt change the thermostat or sensor as mine seem to be working fine but I did change the sesnor last year as it was bloated. It's nice that this kit brings those items as well. Only time will tell how long this one holds up so let's see. Update - June/30/2024, my freezer froze over yesterday. Ordered a replacement again from this seller. Note that the defroster last only about 7 months. Had it the next day and installed easily since i've done it twice now. Pain in the butt however $17 vs $1,000 is still a no brainer. Changed all 3 items. Update - 12/18/24, my freezer froze over again and after taking the freezer back wall off to assess the thermostat, I saw that it was burned out again. I will NOT purchase from this seller again. It looks like their defrost heater kit is lasting right around 6 months when the one I purchased from the other seller lasted 11 months. I've attached a photo of the heater that is blown. You can see it smoky grey when they arrive crystal clear when brand new. I've been changing the heater, sensor and thermostat each time.
