North Wind Board Game

We almost gave up on this game because it took so long to figure out the detailed instructions and even watched a YouTube video. But my 3 sons and I have had a great time playing this beautifully designed game. The ships and all their prices are tons of fun. It takes a little time but there is strategy to winning. Good purchase.

North Wind is a casual-friendly adaptation of Klaus Teuber's "Starship Catan" 2-player game. Now supporting up to 4 players, North Wind also brings to the table a series of adorable wooden and cardboard components.The game mechanics involve the buying and selling of goods, the fighting of pirates, and the improvement of your ship and crew. Destructive interaction with other players is fairly limited.Starship Catan's evolving space decks are missing in this ocean romp, but the simplification of several mechanics makes this game far more likely to get play in more casual crowds.

North Wind is a great entry level game to the hobby of board gaming. It has neat little ships that act as your player boards and very easy to understand rules. It doesn't take that long to set up and the gameplay is simple but allows for some strategic decision making. I have two daughters ages 6 and 8 and they both love it. I highly recommend this game.

Wonderful board game. Perfect for family fun night. All ages enjoy it from my 6 year old to adults.

This is a fun game. It has somewhat unusual game play. The boats are essentially place markers, but they provide nice atmosphere. My 11-year-old son enjoys playing this one with me.
