Decent for the price
We live in a flat that has a very sensitive smoke detector in every single room in the house except the bathrooms. I am used to lighting candles regularly so when we first moved to our new place a year ago, every time I blew out any candles, the resulting smoke would set off the alarm which would then set ALL of them off as they are all connected. It was HORRIBLE. Battery-operated candles was never a thought in my mind until I bought a lantern that came with one and had four people completely and utterly surprised that the candle was not real. It is so realistic that I immediately decided to slowly start replacing all my existing candles with battery-operated ones. These particular ones are okay. I have different candle holders and they work well with some and not so great with others. Any that expose the "flame" looks horrible. It's very obviously fake. Those that hide the candle completely though to fantastic. I bought three packs (twelve in each pack for a total of thirty-six) and three would not turn on immediately. A previous reviewer had mentioned opening up the bottom and taking the battery out and putting it back in and that worked perfectly. All thirty-six are now working.I do wish they were easier to turn on though. When you have twenty you want to turn on, taking each out of their holders, switching them on, and then putting them back takes an annoyingly long amount of time. If you only have five or six though, I don't think this would be an issue. For the price, I would definitely recommend these to someone as long as they are placing them in candle holders that will not reveal the flame portion. They aren't the most realistic battery-operated candles I've seen but for those you can pay more than double the cost of these. These definitely make do.

Good for what they are and safer than real flame
The batteries don't last quite as long as you'd expect for an LED tea light but, the replacement batteries are cheap enough. They are good for what they are -- safe little flickering lights. I had originally purchased them to use in little glass votive holders around the table and buffet during a family party where I didn't want to worry about someone knocking one over and setting stuff on fire or worry about a curious child getting burned. They looked great and people liked the decorative touch, so there's that. I put them away after the party and figured I wouldn't use them again until the following year, but ended up needing them during the multi-week power outage after Hurricane Sandy. I used them like runway lights on the floor to mark a safe path to the bathroom, kitchen, and to mark the top of the stairs. Since then, I've used them as decoration and a few are in my emergency kit waiting to be used as indoor runway lighting again.

love em
I love these imitation candles. I recently went on a candle holder making adventure and I wanted something that would be safer that tealights with the little ones in the house so I opted for these and I have to say, the price was right, and the candles were not disappointing at all. They even flicker like real candles. I left one on 24/7 just to see how long it would last and the battery that comes in it lasted for 3 days. Now if you cut it off and on at appropriate times that might last you a month, or more, But curiosity led me to experiment and running all the time it lasted 3 days. It flickers like a real candle would also, The light is a little dimmer than real candle would be so I used 2 on some candle holders where I would have only needed one real tea light candle but it comes in a package of 12 so thats a small price to pay for safety and not worrying about little hands, and falling asleep with candles burning. Great product shipped fast I would recommend this to anyone.

Good lights...may want frosted or colored votives
Overall, a good set of lights. The price was the biggest selling point for me. Ideally, I wanted a set that you could blow on/off, but these were the next best thing, in that the switches are push on/off, rather than the normal sliding switch.I purchased these for use in votive holders. The votive holders I have are clear, but I knew when buying these that they would probably look a little silly in clear votives. And indeed, they do up close. From a distance, they really don't look bad. But up close, it's obvious they're not real. Thus, I am now using colored and frosted votives so people cannot see the flameless candles inside. And they are great. They do tend to be more yellowish, but again, inside a frosted or colored votive, that is not much of an issue at all.I cannot speak to their longevity, as I have not had them very long. All of the ones in my set worked straight out of the package.

Great Deal!
I have bought several of these tea-light LED candles mainly for using to decorate our playroom at the daycare where I work at Halloween time. We turn it into a "haunted" village and the flickering LED lights add the perfect touch but are safe to use with all the children running around. I also like the easy on/off switch for when I'm running around last minute before our event turning them on, although I have to say that they turn on easily by themselves when I just throw them into a baggie when I'm done. You may want to retain the plastic forms that they come in if you have more storage room than I do! The batteries are easy to replace, too.I made some neat "lanterns" this year by turning on one of the LED lights and putting it inside a white balloon, blowing it up, and hanging them from the ceiling. Those were a popular addition this year. :)The product arrived quickly, worked great, and was a great price. I would recommend these to anyone.

Overall, good for the price
Unlike other reviews, mine had a fairly consistent colour and brightness; kind of a yellowish colour. If you want a bright, white light, I suggest using an LED submersible tealight. One tealight in this set was broken when it arrived (base not attached, but it still lights up, so a little glue to reattach the base and it will be just fine). Hard flame/tip is nice for my use, but not very realistic if going into a clear holder. Flicker is not very realistic but is still better than a solid-on light, in my opinion. Over-all, I think these are just fine for a non-formal use or if "hidden" in a frosted or opaque container.
