Skewer Hack by BBQ Hack, Vertical Skewer, Stainless Steel Spit Stand for Grilling, Tacos Al Pastor, Shawarma, Kebabs, and Gyros, Includes 3 Removable Spikes

I purchased the Skewer Hack by BBQ Hack to make tacos al pastor for the first time on my horizontal smoker.Having a choice of three different lengths of spikes to use worked in my favor. Without modifying the cooking area, I could have used the shortest length and still be able to close the lid, but would have had to cook the meat in batches. The longest spike wasn't going to work for me at all, but the medium length spike was perfect with a slight hack of the grill plates and removal of the warming rack attached to the lid.I wanted to recreate the cooking conditions of a vertical spit so I removed the two center grilling plates and placed an inverted stainless steel grilling basket on the bottom of the grill and angled a plate behind it to hold some coals and a chunk of smoldering mesquite. I then piled coals on either side of the basket and placed the Skewer Hack in the center. You can see from the picture that there were some unavoidable flare-ups from the fat run-off, but the Skewer Hack handled the heat quite well. It warped slightly during cooking, but that slope was beneficial in draining away the juices. The raised edges for handles made it easy to rotate with tongs. After my meat crisped to perfection, I moved it to the oven to finish it and it fit perfectly. I envision also using it indoors with a drip pan for oven roasting. Clean-up was a breeze using oven cleaner.This accessory was a lot of fun to use. We haven't even finished the tacos al pastor and I'm already planning my next cook with it. I highly recommend it.

It took a while to be delivered but it was worth the wait. Made chicken shawarma the first night. Worked like a charm. I would suggest putting half an onion on the bottom to hold the food up above the base plate.

Sturdy stainless steel vertical skewer. Also comes with 3 different size prongs which are easily interchangeable. I made my first shawarma which came out great. Can't wait to make additional items. This item cost less that a few others out there and you don't need to spend more to get a well made product. This one does the trick and I'm more than pleased with this purchase. Would recommend to others.

I am so happy I came across this product on Amazon. It was just what I needed to make Tacos Al Pastor on my recently acquired Rectec smoker. It held the meat and pineapple perfectly without any concern if it would "tip" over. I love that it comes with 3 size skewers for different cooking needs. After I used it to cook the food it was super easy to clean and store away. I did line with aluminum foil to make it extra easy to clean, but I'm sure it wasn't needed. :) Will definitely recommend!

This tool is amazing. I have tried in with lamb, and with chicken. It is so easy to use, and clean up was a breeze.

The media could not be loaded. Best Tacos al Pastor - home edition on my Weber grill. Get it nice and crispy, trim some off, crisp it again and repeat!

Great idea but you have to keep turning it around to heat your meat on all sides

Used this last night and it was just great can't wait to try more things. I used it in my oven not on a grill yet.
