A really important read for anyone with anxiety
I purchased this when my younger child was struggling with physical effects of anxiety after his grandfather died. My older child has anxiety. I have anxiety. My mother has anxiety. This book was so great. It explains where the physical symptoms of anxiety originate, what it means, and give suggestions of how to deal with it. My 75 year old mother read it and later told me it has helped her deal with her anxiety attacks. I recommend this book to so many people, especially with the increase in anxiety in kids.

Recommended by Child Play Therapist
This books was recommended by my son’s Play Therapist as a way to help him understand anxiety. We lost his brother and processing triggering moments has been difficult for him. This books has been so helpful in explaining the process of the fight/flight/etc response and teaching ways to respond and help cope with anxiety.

Excellent therapeutic resource for anxiety
As a child therapist, I enthusiastically endorse this book for understanding how anxiety works in our brains and bodies, and also gaining strategies for managing anxiety. I use this with elementary school aged children, adolescents, and some adults. The illustrations are beautiful, but it isn't exactly a picture storybook. It's a beautifully written and illustrated psychoeducation book.

Great to read to an 8 year old child, to explain anxiety. *I* learned something, too! It helped him calm down a little more easily, when he was panicking. Highly recommend this book.

This book was super helpful in helping our kids identify anxiety in themselves and others. After reading this book my small kids were able to make connections between behavior and anxiety. For example, that the koala in the The Koala who Could probably had a lot of anxiety and that stopped him from doing what he wanted to do. He need to gain control over his warrior. Great book - highly recommended.

I bought this book for my classroom, and it has been a fantastic addition to our wellbeing toolkit. While it contains some complex vocabulary, once it’s unpacked with the students, it truly helps them understand and regulate their emotions. It explains the "Amygdala" in such a clever, relatable way that the children stop feeling "broken" and start feeling empowered by their own brave protector. I also bought the plush toy to go with it, which has been a wonderful support in my Year 1 classroom. It’s a huge comfort for students in need, especially those struggling with low moods or separation anxiety during the morning drop-off. Having a physical "Warrior" to hold makes the concepts in the book come to life, giving them something tangible to squeeze when they’re feeling overwhelmed. Watching my students use the language from the book to describe their "fizzing" or "fluttering" feelings has been incredible. It’s a beautiful, high-quality resource that turns anxiety into something manageable and less scary for young minds.

This really helped my young daughter who had anxiety whenever I left the house. After a few reads and talking about scenarios, she improved and now I don’t have any issues when I pop out.

This book is beautifully written and illustrated. It starts with mindfullness and acceptance therapy approach to anxiety and ends by providing concrete examples of how to control (mitigate) anxiety. All of this is done in a way that children can understand, and is appealing to adults. I made my whole family read it, and they all loved it. #recommend
