Sealproof 1-Gang Weatherproof in Use Outlet Cover | Horizontal/Vertical Outdoor Plug and Receptacle Protector, Lockable Bubble Cover, UL Extra Duty Compliant, 18 Configurations

I purchased Sealproof Deep Base to replace the broken plastic outdoor electrical outlet cover that had been on my house for 15 years. It was mounted on a brick wall. I wasn't sure what would be involved in mounting the Sealproof on the brick wall. I was very relieved to find that it was easy to install. All of the materials I needed came with the Sealproof base. It took me less than 30 minutes. The process was easy, but I work a little slow. I've had it about 2 weeks and haven't had any significant rain, but it sure looks watertight. I'll follow up if any leakage occurs.

Just as advertised and works great

I recently purchased and installed this outlet cover, and overall, I’m quite satisfied with its performance. Pros: Easy Installation: The installation process was a breeze. All necessary parts were included, and the setup was straightforward. Snug Fit for Plugs: I appreciated the design of the plug covers; they snapped into place securely, ensuring a reliable fit. Effective Water Protection: The cover seems to provide excellent protection against water, which is crucial for outdoor outlets. Ample Space: The interior of the cover offers plenty of room to accommodate larger plugs and adapters. Cons: Limited Cord Access: My main issue arises when the cover is mounted horizontally, with two plugs side by side. The single punch-out at the bottom isn’t large enough for two electrical cords. Having two side-by-side punch-outs, each positioned under a plug, would have been much more practical. This limitation hinders the simultaneous use of both plugs, which is disappointing. Vertical Mounting Issue: The same problem persists when the plugs are mounted vertically, although in this case, the lack of space makes it understandable. Overall: While I do like this outlet cover and have decided to keep it, the limitation in cord access is a drawback. If there were additional punch-outs, especially for horizontal installations, it would significantly enhance the product’s usability. In the future, I might explore other options with the desired dual punch-outs if I need to purchase another cover.

Easy install, just what I needed

I purchased my first one of these over three years and it has held up well. A good value for the money. Perfect depth for my large power cords. No cracking or fading of the cover, and it continues to keep everything inside dry. Since I had the need to replace another outdoor outlet cover, I purchased my second Sealproof 1-gang Outlet Cover just last month. I'll definitely by purchasing more of these as I find I need to replace the original covers installed by my home builder eight years ago.

I used the one gang to hide the excess wire and plug-in for an outdoor camera. The extra depth of the one gang made this possible.
