It slices!
I bought this to slice prosciutto that I had been aging for over a year. What can I say? It sliced it.

As advertized
This is a great commercial grade slicer. For me it was a compulsion purchase which from time to time I get a bit caught up in. (Psssst wana buy a watch?) Admittedly it is fun to slice a Ham, but I find it odd that now I search for a Ham that is NOT SLICED specifically so I can bring it home and slice it. My wife has mentioned from time to time that I perhaps have a crush on the Buy it Now button. Well it is kind of cool. Lot's of power right there and then with little to no thought required. At any rate I love Amazon. LOL JimmyK~

Great meat slicer not easy to clean.
Large commercial slicers are over $1000 and this is a 10 inch $250 model. It’s a meat slicer and I see a few complaints regarding cheese cutting. The weight, density, and low oil content of most cheese blocks will not work on this slicer. I worked with professional meat slicers in high school and I was tasked with cleaning the slicer every night. This meat slicer is hard to clean the right way. The blade is not meant to come off and that is a problem when you want to clean it the “right way” because fat and meat bits get in every nic and cranny around the blade. You can do an ok job cleaning it but this cannot be a daily use slicer. The blade is anwesome and the machine looks great and will impress guests when you whip it out! Just wait for the guests to go home before you clean it.

Great slicer for meat.
Cuts prosciutto see-through thin. I find it easy to clean as I just wipe it down and don't disassemble anything. This is a professional machine and is leagues above the 100 buck machines. Blade is quite protected and is safer than using a knife. Not tried cheese and don't plan to.

Lasted great for about 8 months then issues little over a year its dead still better some
In price range it's ok... but for daily use I'd go the 600-1800 range in hindsight

Great Investment
This slicer works like a charm and easy to take apart and clean. Made homemade smoked maple bacon. Sliced perfect when semi frozen. Cut some prosciutto super thin cuts and different diameter bacon cuts. Great purchase, I will be putting it to good use. Making some homemade Pastrami next...

Beware of "Used - In Good Condition"
When I opened the box, I smelled rotted meat. I figured, "Okay. I was going to clean a new one before I used it, AND I saved $80. I just think someone from Amazon should have opened it up to take a look before selling it to someone else. I took it apart - the instructions were helpful - and cleaned it, inside and out. I reassembled the machine and turned it on for the first time, without a load. The motor locked up. I sgut it down and went to the instructions, trouble shooting section. I found the belt may need adjustment. The instructions were not very detailed, but I found what I needed. The blade turned at a slow RPM, so I did more belt adjustment. The blade spun freely, but still at a slower that advertised speed. I would caution anyone who is not handy with tools to avoid this particular meat slicer. I am returning and will try another make/model. Good luck to whoever ends up with this one, but at least you'll know it has been thoroughly cleaned.
