Vocabulaire Progressif du Francais - Nouvelle Edition: Livre + Audio CD (Niveau Intermedaire) (French Edition)

The chapters cover subject areas like, clothing, foods and dining, traveling, with lots of examples for using the words, along with self-testing. This is a good way to learn related subject words. Using the words in context with pictures to aid memory is good also. However, you won't find 'answers' for exercises in the back! I believe there may be another book for that. However, if you are intermediate it probably isn't necessary. There is an evaluation test at the back with answers. The book is entirely in French.

A very good vocabulary guide for the intermediate student. Oui, c'est tout en francais, but that's beneficial for learning words in context. No simple lists of translations to English. The exercises are helpful; a little repetitive but that works well for getting the words integrated into your vocabulary. There's some cultural tips as well!

really good tool who have once started to learn french and now wants to refresh it and go a little bit longer than "yes-my name is .. -thank you- good bye".

Everytime I had to speak French, I stumbled upon something that was taught in this book. It is filled with information, vocabulary, grammar and sentences that you will use in everyday life. It is also taught in a way that it is fun and easily understood (with pictures, examples), with exercises to train and aid in learning, and the information is conveniently separated in subjects (e.g. the weather and different conditions (wind, rain, cyclones); clothing (different pieces, colours); house (the various spaces (kitchen, living room, room) with different furniture), etc. I am sure it is updated regularly as the contents are very current and relevant. I keep coming back as when I forget how to say something of a particular subject, I know where to find the information (I remember the page where the word was, with the picture!)

I have been learning French for 5 years and have found this book excellent for brushing up on vocabulary and everyday expressions.
