HO Scale 33" Wheelsets - Metal Wheels/Metal Axles (12-Pack)

These are very nice, gauge accurate, metal wheel sets. However, as they are silver, they have to be painted on both sides as well as the axle to achieve a proper look. Metal wheels from other sources, Kadee for example, come in black so painting the back of the wheel and axle is optional.

I found a couple of tag sale Walthers freight cars that were entry level models that had plastic wheelsets. I took out the plastic wheelsets and replaced them with these metal versions and I had a much better rolling car. Metal wheels also help keep your track much cleaner. 33" wheels are correct for freight cars under 100 tons capacity. 100 ton rated cars should use 36" wheels.

I bought these as a recommendation from another modeler. I was able to easy switch out my old plastic wheels and put these in. So far, the cars have not derailed over my code 83 atlas turnouts. Definitely will get more in the future. The package does three ho scale freight cars.

These wheels are great but they do not fit a lot of my low end HO scale rail cars I was trying to upgrade. The pins are just slightly to long and the wheels stick due to friction.

I like the finish and how they look but are to pricy for the amount of wheels you get. You can do better else where and find a lower cost.
