Read Hunter's Review for 5150
Can't stress this enough, Gentleman named Hunter left a review regarding 5150 so I copied and paste. This was genius and worked 100% flawlessly. I planned ahead and ordered the tap as well as the springs. Grateful for an actual useful and correct review/ information.Springs are sturdy and seem well built. Only thing that's a concern is maybe are too stiff? Time will tell. 4 stars simply because the extra work. *Edit 12/22/24 : Not too stiff. Springs are perfect. Just the right stiffness with enough flex when needed. Smacked the hell out of the garage a few times forgetting they were on. Plenty of flex when it's needed."For 5150 whip users, simply take a 1/2-13 tap, and cut in new threads over the 1/2-20 threads already present. There is enough metal thickness, that the threads hold fine. I just cut a little bit, backed it out to clean out the shavings, and cut a little more until I was all the way through"

Yes they are heavy duty
I thought they might be a little too stiff. But I have shorter flags, so probably fine. They worked well for me. But I don't have whip lights so I can't help you there.

Could be a good product, if not for one serious flaw. **Maybe fixed?
***05/17/21 UPDATEI purchased a second spring, knowing I would need to tap new threads to run a bolt into the bottom. But when I received it, I could see they improved the mount. It wasn't the same very thin metal of the previous one, but still maintains a small pass through hole for wires. I bolted it down pretty tight and it didn't break. I removed it, examined it, and bolted it down again, tight. So here is hoping the fixed the flaw on an otherwise great product. So I ran into the same issue as many others have with this product. As I was trying to tighten the nut, the hollow bolt on the bottom sheared off, before it started to compress the lock nut. Looking in the bottom of it, it appeared to be a thin piece of hollow metal forming the bolt that was part of a larger much more durable plate that the spring was attached to. I chose to saw the rest of the hollow bolt off, tapped some new threads into the base and threaded a new bolt into it. The base was approximately a half an inch thick and provided more than enough metal for some good threads. This worked really well and has held up strong. I'm not sure why they chose to make that bolt hollow, but it is a serious flaw. A little work on my part made this a 5 star item, but is sadly produced as a one star.

Whip Springs
They are definitely HD. I like them, they fit good, Be cautious, there isn't much give to them and you could possibly break a whip. It happened to me. I wasn't cautious. I still like the product and won't change them out

Flex Springs for flag or Lighted poles
Cost and better description to aid in determing if too strong for Flag poles. Lighted poles would be good. Flag poles in my estimation, flex to strong.

Good flex
Good value I used these for light stick on my side by side. The only issue is not every light stick have the same thread as the receiver. I had to rethread which was easy went from fine to corse.
