nice little device.
was curious about the durometer of my bike tires. The durometer correlates to traction. It is nice to know how much traction any given tire will provide when choosing a quality race tire. I know test every tire I have, my truck, car, wheelbarrow.

Dial face can be adjusted
Not really a precision tool, but it can give you an idea to compare the condition of your pile of tires.Pro tips: First thing first, check if the needle reads "100 shore" against a solid surface; if not, adjust your dial face.Create and keep a log. Always measure in room temp and try to record the reading in the same conditions. Measure Inside-middle-outside position with at least 3 readings.Fresh Hoosier A7 reads between 55-60, fresh RE71R reads 68-72. If your tires is harder than 78+shores, time to throw them away or soak them with tire treatment like "Formula V/Hot Lap" cheers

Inexpensive, and calibration is right on the money
I bought this because it was the cheapest durometer on Amazon that was explicitly stated to measure Shore A scale hardness. It was floating around at the post office for a couple days, but once it arrived, it proved to be sturdy and decent quality. I have tested it against a known piece of urethane rated at 87A and the durometer registers exactly 87A. Far better than I expected for the price.
