Apple really have lost control of the experience.
The experience of a new MacBook was always amazing. They used to work really hard on it starting up really quick and the setup being as easy as can be.So today i'm greeted with my new 2019 Macbook pro. Greeted by a spinning beachball when it tries to connect to my wifi. which it doesn't connect to my wifi at all, it comes up with an error saying cannot join network meaning I cant migrate my old computer over to my new one.But thats no big deal, Ill just have to learn how to do it manually. That will only take a few hours of my life i'm sure. A few hours at least....So anyway, I get past that, set it up as a new computer knowing I'll need to do something to get my old computer migrated. But presto, I need updates!! All the apple apps need updates before I can do anything.I need updates, but it wont let me update. It tells me I need to go to the account page and click accept before I can update apps. I go to account page and there is no "accept" button anywhere.I go to apple support and they tell me I need to follow some support procedures. On my brand new £1100 computer. I need to spend my time following support requests. Let that sink in for a bit. I buy a brand new £1100 computer and the moment I open it up i'm told I need to fix it.I need to fix my brand new Macbook PRO. Im a professional, who works for a living, and i'm expected to fix the computer I just bought to do my job.Shame on Tim Cook for destroying the legacy of Apple and the things Steve Jobs worked so hard at to make Apple what it was. This is what happens when a company is not lead and its left to rot under greed for expansion and a CEO more interested in environmental issues than making really great products that work for their customers. It's not just their MacBooks either. It's hard to make a really great computer, but its a LOT harder to make a great experience. And apple no longer make a great experience.

One word; disappointing. Superheat during use, loud fan. Poor delivery from Amazon.
Delivery was awful from amazon. I received a missed you card for the wrong post office address from Royal Mail and was sent on a 50 mile ride to nowhere. I managed to get it today somehow (Amazon customer care gave me 5 GBP cash with thousand conditions attached to it) to compensate for my troubles in getting the laptop on time which made me feel like a beggar. Amazon please learn some manners. Regarding the laptop. Using it for last 2 hours or so, just light browsing and watching videos. This thing has become hot enough to cook a bloody omelette on it. Now I have a MacBook Air vintage 2013, was working like a dream till my little one spilled coffee all over it. That machine never gave me any problem and was giving a battery life of 10 hours easily. Fan on this laptop is going so loud that it sounds like a tornado. Battery life also seems to be poor as my percentage remaining was receding quicker than my old Mac air. I am not sure that my faith in Macs remains at the same level it was.Screen quality is only redeeming feature but at the end of day in era of smart tvs with awesome screens that not something I would be bothered much about.

Love it
Pros: Screen, touch pad, touch gestures, Touch ID, the fancy touch screen on the bottom (just above the keyboard), the screen quality, speakers and battery life is surprisingly good.Cons: Honestly? I haven't found any, apart from the price.

Absolute beast of a machine, quite brilliant
Disclaimer, I am upgrading from a Macbook Air Mid 2012 so you can imagine compared to that this Macbook Pro 13 inch Core i5 is an absolute beast. With that said even without comparisons this machine is really good. Its quad core make this a very powerful and capable machine and will make light work of tasks for the average content creator. The integrated graphics isn't anything to right home about so don't expect to do any serious gaming but the Retina display is absolutely beautiful making watching high res videos a nice viewing experience. The sound quality is also very good, it's loud, clear and surprisingly rich for a laptop that size. The battery life is really good and does live up to Apple's claim of 10 hours. The typing experience is ok, with the keys giving a decent amount of key travel. Features like the finger print reader which can be used to unlock your Mac and used with Apple Pay and Siri which can be used for voice commands are a real handy bonus and gives some extra convenience. Many people find the touch nothing more than a gimmick but I think it's a nice touch (no pun intended).Something to note is that I bought the 128GB model and you'd be surprised how quickly this get filled if up so bear this in mind. Also these machines only have 2 connection ports (2 USB type C ports) so you'd have to purchase and carry around with you a hub or a dongle if you wish to connect other legacy ports. I personally don't mind this because it's actually quite convenient for my home desktop set up. When at home I connect my Mac to my LG monitor using just one cable which give picture, sound and also charges the Mac, no need for a HDMI cable or a power cable. When I'm going out I can simple unplug the single cable and take my portable Macbook with me.Macs are generally expensive so whether you're getting value for money will depend on a few factors. I personally bought this because I wanted to upgraded to a much more powerful machine, one that was pretty much future proof and will last me a long time performance wise. Unless you're willing to build a Hackingtosh, Macs are the only way you can officially get Mac OSX operating system (which offers a brilliant user experience). The Macbook Pro is well built, has a nice sleek design and slim form factor. The space grey is also a very nice touch. So for the reasons outlined above I think this Macbook Pro is brilliant and so for me well worth it. I can confidently recommend it. Hope this helps.

A big step forward for the MacBook Pro base model
This 1.4 GHz quad-core model is so far advanced from its predecessor, the 2017 2.3 GHz duo-core, which I also own. Check out both models at EveryMac.com to compare, and see YouTube video reviews, too. The touch bar sign-in is a very useful innovation at this level.
