How to Listen to God: His Voice Waits to Be Heard

Rarely have I read such a helpful and encouraging book that gives a deeper understanding of how God is seeking to speak to humans even today. While some people believe God only speaks through the Bible, Dr. Charles F. Stanley gives many examples of how God speaks through our parents or a pastor or anyone God chooses to give us his message. Of course discernment is also needed. God could even be speaking through you to someone in your life! This book deals with issues like Christian meditation which involves waiting on God to speak to you in silence. There is also a list of ten hindrances to hearing from God. Dr. Charles F. Stanley explains how God wants to talk to you and that there are four common ways God can choose to speak. Recently I've been hearing from God more often about things in my life he wants to change and I've been going through a process of personal purification where God has asked me to give up things in my life that are holding me back. The past week has been quite the journey and I don't think God is done with me yet! I look forward to reading other books by this author as he really seems to have a way deeper understanding of how God works in our lives. Can’t say enough good things about this book! It’s so on point about listening to God. After reading this, I have a better understanding of how He speaks to us & even had Him guide me the following day to an answer to my prayers. He speaks us if we know how to listen.

I enjoy listening to , watching and reading material from the late Charles Stanley. If you are a fan of Charles Stanley, this is the book for you. He opens our understanding to how God feels about us when we make mistakes.

Excellent !! Most informative easy to understand answered soooo many questions!! He IS a phenomenal author, how absolutely wonderful it must have been to sit in a church pew & listen to him! He wrote many books & I sincerely will be looking to acquire as many of them as I can. He HAS LEFT us with A LIFETIME of experience and knowledge ! His words and knowledge have certainly been so valuable to me~ I miss his weekly conversations on Turning Point.

Great book

There was a short delay before I received the book. Of course, the content is excellent. I ordered a "new" book, but this book is obviously showing its age having been published in 1985. The cover is well scuffed and it smells a little musty.

This book changed my life! I experienced something so unfair a year ago and could not make sense of it until I read this book. Even if you’re not close to God, I highly recommend this book.

Wow! What an amazing book about how to hear from God. The book is very comprehensive and filled with a great deal of wisdom too. It's so good that I am going to read it again. A must read for any Christian

Such a help. Dr Stanley writes so well, it's easy to understand, straightforward and well backed up with scripture. This book is inspiring, challenging and encouraging. A really important resource for everyone to have.

Very interesting book to learn how to listen God’s voice. The book gives practical steps to do to listen and the advantages of listening God’s voice.
