It really works!
This bulb perfectly replaces the incandescent bulb in my Aqua Signal 41 steaming light. It works with light's plastic socket. It has a negative and a positive contact on the bottom. It has offset locking pins to control polarity. It is well made and unlike the photo in the listing it has a clear plastic shell around it protecting the LEDs. There were not any blobs of solder affecting my installing the bulb into the socket. I have included a photo of this bulb next to the original incandescent bulb. I have used it 12 hours as of this review.

Do NOT work for the advertised purpose!
These were advertised as compatible with the "Aqua Signal Series 40" (and others) but are NOT. I have two Aqua Signal Series 40 lights, one with anchor, tricolor and strobe, and one with anchor and tricolor only. Both use the same bulbs. The light sockets are wired such that they use the two bottom posts to supply power, but the bulb bases are NOT wired to ground... they simply hold the bulbs in place. In the attached photo, the two metal support posts for the upper light socket (the tricolor) supply the electrical connections... one for hot and one for ground. The bulb base has NO connectivity for ground. The lower light socket (anchor) is wired the same way. These bulbs however, are wired such that they use the BASE as ground, rather than one of the two bottom posts of the bulb. ( I previously ordered ONE of these bulbs. But before climbing the mast to discover this issue, I ordered these two more as backup!)It MIGHT be feasible to totally rewire the fixtures to make them work. But doing so would mean that the correct bulbs would no longer work! That's a real shame, as they looked like a good solution. But they were just a waste of my time and money... and delayed my departure for the Bahamas!

Works, but doesn't quite fit
The thing physically fits into the aqua signal series 40, and right now it works when I turn it on, but it does not quite fit as it should. I had to spend about an hour placing and twisting and moving it to try to get it in perfectly and it cannot be fit in perfectly. I was able to get it to a position that it turns on every time I power it, but I am definitely concerned that underway in heavy seas it may easily shift and lose power. I don't want to solder it in place to make sure I don't lose it because then it will not be serviceable if the LED's burn out, but I may have to just havn't made my mind up. It does however save the wattage I needed to save and at the moment is working as intended or it would be a 1 star. If they just made the size fit the aqua signal series 40, it would be a 5.

Perfect fit where others fail
These fit perfect for Perko navigation lighting. other BAY15d bulbs didn't seat right. I had issues with others rated at 10v-30v. These are perfect in a 24vdc system. Pretty cool color on the spectrum but that is ok in my application.

Left on for almost 6 months
I just had the boat out for 6 months mostly at anchor. We never even turned it off during the day. It took very little power and was very bright. Highly recommended for the replacement anchor lamp.

Works great but the manufacturing has a minor defect
Works great but the manufacturing has a minor defect. The solder points were too thick around the bulb circular sleeve. It would not allow me to push the bulbs in deep enough into the housing socket, and therefore I was not able to twist slightly so it can snap into the final seating position. I had to take a solder gun and remove excess solders around the brim of the bulb. Once done, they seated fine. I had to do this to all 6 bulbs I had ordered. I had used them to replace all the old incandescent lights on my boat exterior markers and running lights. After 6+ months, none of these LED has failed from exposure and vibration. Which is pretty good as the locations where these bulbs are installed are very difficult to reach while the boat is in the water.
