LovIT Scientific Digital Internal Meat Thermometer for Grilling and Oven Roasting - Accurate, Electronic Probe - Easy to Read

After all the glowing reviews, I was expecting more. It takes over 20 seconds for this thing to actually measure the temperature - you try holding it with your bare hand over a searing pan! Maybe it's OK for turkey, but I have a different probe for that.

Not as instant as I'd like it to be, but probably fine for someone less invested in perfection than I am.

Really like this thermometer. Good quality, but it takes a while for the temperature to show. In other words NOT an instant read.

Obviously the  LovIT Scientific Digital Internal Meat Thermometer  did not see Top Gun. LovIT does not feel the need for speed. The thermometer is very accurate, but quite slow. I'm just happy they didn't put instant thermometer in the name as it's quite slow.Unfortunately for me, I'm in the QSR (quick service restaurant) business and speed is the name of the game. They don't call us fast food for nothing!The team did appreciate the accuracy. We've tested a number of digital thermometers and this has definitely been the most consistently accurate one we've tested. Boiling water and hot oil have been on the money. Sitting around watching the temps climb is losing money though. <SHRUG>The team like the long probe and said the readings were easy to see. They also said they though the product was durable and it would last, unlike some other products we've tested.It's a nice very nice digital thermometer that's more apt for the home cook or something who values accuracy over speed.While I received this product in exchange of a review, the statements made are completely my own without any bias or influence from the manufacturer or seller. Received this product and tried it within a day. The temperature seemed to be tracking well until it got to about 130 degrees at which point the screen would flash zeros and it would reset and start over again in Celsius this time. I emailed the vendor but heard nothing back. I'm an avid reviewer and did receive a discount in exchange for my unbiased review and as you can guess, this is an unbiased review.Edit: Customer service wrote back and is making things right.

This is being returned. It is a VERY slow thermometer. Not what I expected.

Great! No more undercooked or over cooked turkey, chicken!
