All in all a real good quality system for the price. Installing the hard drive was simple & easy. The only issue I have with it is the app & internet web portal. It never seems to work right. I've tried contacting them for help but I'm guessing that the time difference & the pandemic haven't gotten a response.**Also I joined there Facebook group to maybe get some assistance. All the administrators of the group want to do is get me to buy some $300 baby monitor camera set, so I can supposedly "test" it & they say they will reimburse me. I have my doubts..But for the cost & what's included with this quality of tech is hard to pass up.

I had to order two of these in order to get one functional one, which is quite a shame. The camera and wiring were intact on the first box, but the CPU didn't function. A quick refund request, a new one was on the way, and everything was set up again for success.The night vision works well, and the cameras give a crisp, clear image for $150 camera set. The cords are long enough to give a wide range of options, and everything's intuitive enough to not need instructions to get it working.

I like that it comes with 8 cameras. I don't like that it's only 8 have to get extra stuff to add a 9th or more. The night vision itls decent. I Noticed in Call grass if someone was to just lay down they would disappear. The sensitivity on the alarm goes off all the time for motion even on the lowest sensitivity. Easy simple enough mounts but be careful bif you over tighten the locking screw on the mount your gonna snap it.

Let me tell you the awful truth. The dvr and hard drive suck! after installing everything a few months in i was having problems with the hard drive. The dvr constantly told me there was no memory left, even after putting the dvr settings to record over itself. So I then bought another hard drive 2tb or so. that worked for a while and it was telling me the same thing no memory. Not only that the dvr constantly reboots itself every minute. Now almost a year of this bs, and out of my return window im stuck with it. i did some research and heard it could be my hard drive, so I warranted the hard drive and guess what, the dvr still reboots itself. Now I am being told by this company that if its out of warranty they cant help me. that i need to buy a new dvr. thanks! based on that i would not recommend the cameras. look else where.the good side. The cameras are easy to install, and the picture quality is really good, and the night vision looks great too. The live view is a great feature as well, once you set up the app on your phone. Bought these cameras for my new house and I'm glad I did. I got cameras in all location around the house. No blind spots.

The DVR comes without a hard drive. This new unit was replacing a DVR that had failed after several years of use. The installation was simple. The new DVR comes with hard drive cabling. I moved the 2TB hard drive from the old DVR to the new DVR. On powering up the new DVR the hard drive was formatted by the CPU and ready to go. The picture is with the currently installed cameras. Will swapped existing cameras with the new cameras as needed. For the Android mobile app use the one stated in the Quick Start Guide manual "XMEye Pro".

Review update: it has taken over a year but finely was able to get a representative to provide me with the updated firmware for the DVR which did resolve some issues. I still have no idea what model or specs are to the cameras I received as they not what was described when purchased. The quality of image is okay if you do not care to zoom in tight to get a closer look at what someone actually picked up and put in there pocket. The image is not clear except when in normal view regardless of setting used to try and make better. The video file output is to low quality even for imaging enhancing software to clean up in an attempt to see small items that are in peoples hands.REVIEW UPDATE: I still am not able to get the system to function. Decided to check other reviews and saw the pictures others have posted from these pictures I can see that they are not the same cameras I recieved infact even the images in the review are two different style of cameras. The image quality in the pictures from some reviews is nowhere even close to what I see using all ultra HD cables and monitors or not still nowhere close. If the images in the review are an indication there is no telling what quality of camera you well recieve and forget getting help from seller or any other source. I was contacted by seller told to go to amazon request manual so did then was told not able to send through amazon site a d to co tact through other means that get you nowhere. I WOULD NOT PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT!!!Where to start. First the details on the Amazon listing say the cameras you will receive are:"8pcs 1080P 2MP wireless IP66 waterproof cameras with 24 LEDS automatic IR-cut filter. Whether the camera is indoors or outdoors at night, it can still be shot clearly. (Up to 85ft night vision)"First thing i see when i open the box is that the cameras are NOT WIRELESS so what model camera did i get what quality what capabilities? Well since they have no manufacturer marking on them and nowhere on the packaging does it tell you the type of cameras that are in the box or should be with the kit and there was no instruction manual with the list of whats in the box etc. it is anybodies guess as to what they really are what they are not is wireless. What they appear to be is knockoffs fake not from the manufacturer of the cameras.Then there is the HDD issue they say to use the 4 supplied screws to attach your sold desperately 3.5 inch hard drive inside DVR and you are all set for recording. Sounds fantastic until you realize that 3.5 inches in china is only 1.5 inches in the USA. With some determination you will be able to attach at least 1-2 screws to secure the HDD to the case due to incorrectly spaced mounting holes and would recommend some type of electrical resistant tape to attach to DVR case bottom so your drives circuit board does not short out on the bare steel case of the DVR.once you get through all this and depending on what you may have laying around your home you will need to spend about $400 - $600 at your local hardware store to purchase Coaxial wire strippers and crimps plus a couple hundred or more FT of 75 Ohm coaxial wire along with some two wire power cable and lets not forget to buy the tips for both the power wire and the video coax connector. This is assuming you have a home that is at least 30 FT x 60 FT with 1 bedroom living area a large Garage and do not want to drill holes through walls to run the cable straight to the camera from the DVR.After all this is you have not just said F-it then sit down and take a deep breath. Remember when i said there was no instructions that came with the system. Now work out how to set the settings within the system without screwing something up. Do not expect the help line listed on the one piece of paperwork you get that tells you to call them should you have any issues at this point.As a closed wired circuit camera system not all bad. DOES NOT RECORD AUDIO

I purchased my cameras back in January and basically been installing them slowly over the last couple of months (only because I'm old and getting up on a ladder kills me). I love them so far. The are easily installed, and the clarity is really good. I have one hooked up where my hummingbird feeders are hung and I can see the colors of the birds as they fly by or feeding. I can't wait to get the other 4 up so I can see the wildlife in my back yard and the traffic out front.

I like the camera security system, it works well a great product and the x vim company is very good to deal and very helpful to guide you through the setup when needed

It will not record even after hooking up an external hard drive to it
