I have been in opioid recovery for the past 13 years. My addiction started in my early teens so unfortunately I have done permanent damage and sleep and I don’t get along well. Couple that with being an anxious mom, I have not had an unmedicated full nights sleep in over a decade. I have been taking various pharmaceuticals over the years including trazadone, hydroxyzine, lorazepam, otc’s like unisom, Benadryl, NyQuil, etc. I am tough to knock out. Falling asleep can be an issue, but staying asleep is the real problem. I wake every 2 hours like clockwork. I have been quite scared of the long term damage of the meds combined with long term issues of lack of sleep.I added this tincture to my tea last night with an ashwagandha +L-theanine, maca & vit D gummy. This tincture smells like feet so be warned, but I slept last night. All night. I’m speechless. I feel rested today, I feel good this morning. Never in a million years did I expect to go to bed last night without taking my prescription sleep meds. I figured I’d wake up and need to pop my pill, and I didn’t. Granted, it was only one night. And I will be back to update if things change. But for now, I am grateful to myself for taking a shot at this and giving it a go. I don’t even think I needed the gummy as I have been taking them for a while. I feel lasts nights success can be attributed strictly to the valerian.So like I said, just give it a try. It might work, it might not. But I am someone that laughs at natural remedies. They could never work for me, in my mind. And I’ve been proven wrong.

I love this stuff! I take it before bed most times. One drop is the regular, two if I really need help. Getting to sleep. The sensations aren’t overwhelming, making it feel more natural when falling to sleep, rather than a synthetic overwhelming feeling like something you get from NyQuil.. I honestly feel my sleep quality overall has improved with this, and I wake less during the night as well.The taste isn’t horrible, though it isn’t sweet or necessarily something . You can’t ask for much from a real plant tincture without sweeteners and other garbage. For that I’m happy and love it. I’d rather sacrifice a little taste for something temporary, knowing it’s healthy and good for my body. In the end, it is medicine! Just be careful when you take your dose, sometime extra little drops come out after you squeeze the bulb. I don’t think this stuff will stain super bad, but just be prepared in case.Time for me to step up to the bigger bottle next time around. I’m a happy customer and have no need to keep shopping for something else. Price is reasonable as well.

I have been using Herb Pharm products since the company first went into business in about 1979. If you want a properly prepared herbal product, Herb Pharm is the best choice. The Valerian Root extract uses the correct parts of the plant and is of a good strength. It does what the various Herbals and information on herbs says it's supposed to do. Valerian is not supposed to smell very good and it can be an acquired taste. Some people will never like the taste. It can be mixed with beverages or honey etc to mask the taste. Don't be surprised if your cat is drawn to it. Cats often go as crazy for valerian as they do for catnip, but I would not give any of the extract to a cat because of its alcohol content.

This valerian tincture was effective at improving my sleep quality, the smell is kind of off-putting, but if you mix it with water or juice you will not even taste it. When using herbs like valerian, hops, skullcap, and/or passionflower it is important to rotate the usage of these herbs (i.e. use valerian for a month, then switch to hops to a month etc.). the reason being is your body can develop a tolerance to these herbs if you use them for too long therefore reducing their effectiveness.

This product without alcohal in it made me so sick. My heart raced, it made me dizzy headed to a point walking to the bathroom was like almost impossable without holding onto things. I donot drink alcohal &,only use herbal products to stay healthy..I not only did not sleep ,I slept worse than I've ever slept ever & I dont sleep well is why I tried it. Tried to go to bed at my normal time of 10:30 and fell asleep around 1:30 after taking it an hour before 10:30 pm sleep hours. I woke up at 4am with the worst headache I've ever had & I dont get headaches. The fast heart beat kinda scared me because I'm a healthy person with only sleep issues. This says it relaxes you, NO IT DOES NOT!! at least not for me it had very bad adverse reactions & I was stupid after reading the reviews & expected greatness from this product & bought 2 bottles. I think I'll stick with Melantonan. I may wake up groggy but not have my heart scare the crap outta me...Taste was not bad I didn't think it had a earthy lite taste. I only used 8 drops in water. I wanted a refund & after filling out the refund questioner it says not refundable. I'm out for 2 bottles & was hoping to use to try a different product. I'm writing this not only with a headache but super tired from the problems it gave me & still a bit dizzy. Don't buy it if you've never tried any of this kind of product before. So very disappointed to waist my money on this organic product. 😵‍💫😟UPDATE: Amazon gave me back my money for this product.. ty Amazon
