Then, we came home to what smelled like a mouse had died somewhere in our Great Room. We tried to localize the smell but still cannot figure out from where the handful of flies are hatching. We never have had more than a handful of flies in the house all year. Lately, however, there are around 3 or more buzzing around or lying dead someplace. The flies make us pretty sure that something died somewhere, but where?????. The AC is on so the air is moving and we cannot really localize the smell. I suddenly remembered the two small odor eliminators I had put into a thick sealed plastic bag. I brought them out yesterday and hung them up in the section of the room where the smell is strongest, near stuffed cabinets, a desk and full bookshelves. This morning the smell was much less. So I just ordered more of these for other trouble spots in the house and cars. We really like the fact there is no synthetic perfume left wafting around to cause us to sneeze.

I'm still not quite certain it's ACTUALLY working but I don't notice odors.Update: Apparently I am just not realizing it because I am used to how my car smells (or doesn't) but, I drove some friends the other night and the first comment they both made was "oooh, your car smells NIIICE". I was initially confused because I didn't smell anything and then realized, that is probably exactly why it "smells nice". I bumped up my rating because that is proof of its effectiveness.This a good brand for charcoal bamboo products.***Update (07/2020)So, I forgot that I would want to change out the purifier after about a year because it has become an almost permanent fixture there. I even bought a new car two years ago and brought the purifier with me. I know it wasn't really intended to work this long but, it has been effectively filtering for almost FIVE years (looking back at the order from 2015). It does get a fair amount of sunlight pretty regularly so I would venture to say that could be the reason I have never felt tempted to buy air fresheners of any kind. Thinking about it now, It even got rid of that fake "new car" smell the dealership likes to throw in, assuming they're doing you a favor but it just irritates the crap out of my sinuses. I am going to finally replace it because it hasn't been as quick to neutralize odors as it once was but I swear it is still working to keep my car fresh.

I like this pillow thingy quite a bit - I put it in a really yucky smelly old Pilot, that my husband uses for hiking. It smells like a "man cave" because it usually has his hiking clothes and manly smell about it. I tried shampooing the car carpets to get the smell out but to no avail. I bought this because it's supposed to last a year. So I thought, well 30.00 bucks for a refresher that lasts a year is worth it, right? When I first got it I decided to slide it under the car seat, because the website says you don't have to hang it up - it will work anywhere in the car you place it. The website said to let it sit in the sun for a bit before you first use it.....but I didn't do that. I just kind of twisted it a little to "activate" the charcoal and it worked just fine. The smelly car is not 100% odor free, but this took out 90% of the stale manly odor in the car.

Air quality is the same, after a month.

Even better than I expected. I'm a light cigarette smoker and smoke in my car 1-2 times a day. Even though I always have the window down and my hand halfway out the window, there is no denying that my car almost always smelled like an ashtray. I'm in the process of quitting and have been struggling to break my association of smoke while driving so I figured that sprucing up the inside of my car would help. After trying a slew of really gross overly fragrant air "fresheners" I had all but given up on getting rid of the lingering smoke smell which had faded into an unpleasant musky scent.Enter PURGGO. Was a late night impulse purchase - but one I certainly don't regret. Install (if you can even call it that) was easy peasy, just take off the headrest of the seat and make sure the loop of the PURGGO is surrounding the headrest base before putting it back on. DONE! While I can't say this has eliminated the smell entirely (what I believe to be an unrealistic expectation) - it has made a noticeable difference. I thought it might just be my car airing out but I caved and smoked one cigarette in my car yesterday & this morning it was hardly noticeable.Definitely recommend, although might be mildly irritating to backseat passengers if the front seat is pushed far back. Certainly not enough to make a ride uncomfortable, but could get in the way if someone was trying to read or do any activity with their hands in front of them. A non-issue for me, but worth mentioning.

So I’ve had this for a while now, I wanted to make sure to get some real “use” out of it before leaving a review… consensus is that it’s a waste of money. It didn’t help in ANY way! For the price I really had some hope for this thing but don’t waste your time or money.
