Gas Detector, Natural Gas/LPG/City Coal Gas Leak Detector, 3-Pin Plug-in Gas Monitor with Sound Alarm and LED Display, Methane Propane Butane Combustible Gas Alarm for Kitchen RV Garage Hotel

After realizing that my current battery-powered natural gas detector was broken (it even beeped outside!) I decided to try a plug-in. This product is really simple, just take out of the box and plugin. It takes a minute or two to set up but soon after the clear display was '0' telling me I was safe. Nice and reassuring. The instruction booklet states that the gas will collect around the ceiling, the detector is to be placed 30cm below and 1.5 m from the air (a window). This means it might be hard to find a suitable place if you have a really small room. For myself, I probably need to move mine further from the window but I still feel that this product has helped alleviate my worries about natural gas.

I bought this for my mum’s new holiday caravan as a new boiler had been installed just before she bought the caravan. Four days after she moved in, the gas alarm went off at 3am. Thankfully it woke her up. The fire brigade said she would have been dead had she not bought the alarm. It was reading a gas level of 4 and climbing due to a boiler installation issue. I can’t rate this product enough.

I purchased this alarm for my 81 year old mum who has lost her sense of smell and has a tendency to knock the gas knobs on her cooker. I was a little dubious about this alarm working from having read the reviews, however, I decided to purchase it anyway as previously, by sheer luck, a family member went to visit mum who had gone to sleep not realising she had knocked the gas knob to ‘on’! So far it has worked brilliantly, whether it takes a little while to detect the gas or not. Being elderly, mum does fall asleep but the alarm has woken her when it’s detected gas. I can truly say it’s saved her life as going by last time, the gas had been on for 4hrs and the fire service had to go in with gas masks to open all the windows and doors with mum having to sit outside for 2hrs before they let her go back in. The most important thing is this device works and if it’s a choice between not having one and having one, I’d certainly opt for the latter.

My husband thought he smelled gas, due to long covid I couldn't confirm this. After a day of his concern I bought the alarm, mainly to reassure ourselves. We used an extension lead to be able to place the alarm at the correct height. Within an hour it was beeping and reading 3. We then moved it to nearer the gas meter and it read 9 after only 45 minutes and beeped like a wild thing. We switched off the gas and called the plumber. (the alarm rapidly set itself back to 0 after the gas was turned off and the area ventilated) A test revealed a huge leak at the meter. Now waiting for the gas company to sort that out. The alarm was excellent and I highly recommend one. But do read the instructions and use it as described. Life saving!

I bought this gas detector for my kitchen and I’m very happy with it. The setup was extremely easy—plug-and-play with a standard US plug, no tools or electrician needed. When everything is normal, it shows “0,” and if it detects gas, the numbers change to indicate the level. The alarm is loud and the flashing red light makes it obvious when there’s a leak. It’s reassuring to know it detects natural gas, LPG, and city coal gas. I also appreciate the energy-saving design, using less than 2 watts. It’s been running 24/7 without any noticeable increase in my electricity usage. A few important notes: The detector does not detect CO or CO₂, so it’s not a replacement for carbon monoxide alarms. It has a 180-second warm-up time, so don’t expect it to work immediately after plugging it in. Overall, this is a solid, affordable gas monitor that provides excellent safety. I feel much more secure knowing I have an extra layer of protection against gas leaks.

Very good product. Some people, like me, think the device isn't working when they first plug it in because it doesn't display anything and only makes a short beeping sound. The device goes through a warm-up process, and only then does it display "0" if there is no gas leak
