Revgear Youth Combat Series Headgear

I'm not one to write reviews but wanted to help parents decide on a product to help protect their children. My son is 7 years old 4' 5" and 65 lbs. He's been sparring for about two years and had been wearing open face headgear exposing his chin, nose and cheeks. He had been getting hurt recently while sparring as his skill level and those of other student have progressed over the years. With the kids hitting harder and more accurately I decided to find new headgear. The Rev Gear seemed reasonably priced so I purchased it for Christmas. I purchased a medium and was very please with how it fit. It covers his face well while leaving his vision unobscured. The padding seems more dense (stronger) than his previous head gear. The cheek pieces are molded to hold shape against his face. What the photo does not show is a small amount of padding to cover under the chin as well for added protection. It also seem to have a good amount of adjustment in it for my son to grow into. The headgear closure adjusts behind the head for regular on or off. The crown of the headgear can also be adjusted for a personal fit. The ear holes line up well when my son is wearing it ensuring he can hear coaching from his corner.The quality seems good although its too early to speak to long term durability. In all in don't have any concerns as of yet. It seems like a good, well thought out piece specifically made for children.I would recommend this product.

Very small/tight on a 7 year old's head. I'd go up to the next size if your kid has a normal-sized head and they're older than 6. Suits its purpose!

I needed this for my son because he recently got involved in mixed martial arts and it was required to participate. I did not really know what I should look for when getting this, but I ended up orderingthe gear and it works great. This was exactly what my son needed in class and it fits great.

too large for under 10

I loved this while it lasted. Not to be misleading, my son has a huge head, lol. We actually ended up donating this to his gym for the smaller students to use, and it has held up very well. Its a good quality piece with sufficient padding for youth classes where they do light sparring.

Purchased for my 7 year old to wear during Muay Thai sparring class. It was one size too small for his head (which I think is average for a 7 year old). Returned it for a medium size. Fits well, good coverage, good visibility.

My son as well as all the kids at our MMA gym use this and they all love. Good protection and fits well.
