Bike Derailleur Clamp, Alloy Braze on Front Mech Derailleur Clamp for Mountain Bike Road Bike (31.8mm-Black)

I picked up a bike from one of the freebie sites a while ago and I’m in the middle of making it roadworthy again. The front derailleur mechanism was rusted solid so I removed it and I have a replacement mechanism, but I needed a clamp to fit it on the bike.This clamp does the job.It seems well made although £6.82 (May 2024) may be a fraction overpriced/

This is a braze-on clamp for mounting a bicycle front derailleur. (Some bikes have a "brazed-on" bracket already in place to mount the derailleur - this bracket is used for a derailleur which requires a brazed-on bracket on a frame which does not have the bracket fitted.)It clamps around the downtube and provides the required mounting hole for the derailleur. It feels solid enough, but still not overly heavy. It's usefully around half the price of an official Shimano product, but looks to be of similar quality.Note this is only for bikes with a 31.8mm downtube; it won't fit a 34.9mm tube.
