Wonderful Glass
Glasses came in one day carefully packed. Excellent clarity and a good balance of thinness between delicate and durable. I'd usually choose a red for a stemless, but this glass served me well for a chilled local rosé.Highly recommended!

Ravenscroft: Always Dependable!
We have been using Ravenscroft glassware for many years. Their selection meets every need and we have proven to ourselves that wine tasted from lesser quality stemware is not as delicious and full bodied. These black glasses are beautifully crafted and light. The packaging was careful and product arrived safely. We are very pleased and will order again.

Quality glasses at a good price
I have posted some pictures of this glass next to a selection of other glasses at the top of this page. There are a lot of notes on the picture with wine in the glasses but I think you have to click on the picture to open the gallery to be able to see them. This is a large wine glass at about 11" tall. The foot of the glass (large disk at the bottom) is very large and heavy. That is good since it gives the glass a lot of stability and you do not feel like you are going to knock it over. The bowl of the glass is also very large and heavy. This counter balances the large foot, but there is sort of a dumbbell feel to the glass with both ends being quite heavy. The stem is robust so there is a good feel in your hand. The rim is one of the most important elements of a wine glass. In general, the thicker the rim the less enjoyable to glass is to drink from. This has a nice thin-to-medium rim that goes nicely with the glass. It is not so thin as to feel sheer and delicate, but not thick like a glass rim on a water glass. I think the rim enhances the wine from this glass.Perhaps the best quality of this glass is the way it looks sitting on the table. It is a very classic shape with the bowl having a slightly elongated look which makes it look delicate while still looking robust. They definitely look good and guests will give good comments about them. The glass is very large and if you are looking for the glass to enhance your wine, then you have to be selective in what you put into this glass. The bowl is so large that a normal pour leaves a lot of space between the liquid and your nose. Subtle and delicate wines are going to not show as well from this glass. I would not use this glass for old Bordeaux or Cabernet wines. Young California Cabernet is great from this type of glass and I think helps resolve the nose into a better flavor profile. I had a 2009 Caymus Cabernet from it the other night and it was very good.Do remember that it is a large glass. You can fit a whole bottle of wine in this glass, so be judicial in your pours. See the photo above with the wine in the glasses. It would be easy to over pour in this glass (and end up drinking more than you intended). This is a hand blown glass that is likely made to compete with the Riedel Sommeliers Bordeaux Grand Cru, Single Stem which is not shown in the pictures above. The Riedel is only slightly larger, but it is lighter and more delicate. It is also much more expensive. If you are looking to impress and want a very large glass, then this is an excellent choice. It is not going to be the best glass for the majority of red wines, so if you are looking for a glass that is better for a larger number of wines, I suggest the Riedel Vinum Bordeaux, Set of 2 or the Ravenscroft Crystal Bordeaux Glass, Set of 4 . Both of these are excellent glasses for most all Cabernet based wines and will do well for Merlot and Zinfandel wines as well. This is more of a specialized glass, but I highly recommend it.My shipping was fine with this glass. They arrived well packaged and were not broken.

Perfect Size for Wine Tastings & Dessert Wines
Used it for a Ladies Night Fondue & Dessert/ Ice Wine Tasting. The two smaller glasses are the dessert wine glasses. They look nice with a variety of larger size wine glasses as they are a simple, clean, classic shape. It's easy to see the "legs" on the sides of the glass. Go in the dishwasher without problem. And will also use them for after dinner port, liquors, or for aperitif in the future. They are just what I wanted. I hunted & hunted and was tempted by cut crrystal, or colored glass, but realized they wouldn't blend with other wine glasses. And the PRICE was great, and got 12 glasses instead of the usual 6.

Big Mouth, Sloppy Pour
This is a lovely decanter. Of that there should be no doubt. The month before, I purchased the Taylor Ravenscroft decanter. It was down to those two, and the Jefferson was out of stock and, well, my bourbon was feeling neglected so I went with the Taylor. I was quite pleased... but always in the back of my mind I had this nagging feeling that I'd "missed-out".What if the Jefferson decanter was the best decanter in the history of the universe?!!What if owning the Jefferson decanter was a life-changing experience?!!What if the ownership of the Jefferson decanter made me seem more witty, more urbane, more attractive to women?!!So many questions... so many exclamation points mingling with question marks...... could the Jefferson decanter help?Meh... not so much. It's a nice looking vessel. It has a nice "heft" to it.It has a sturdy neck with which to pour, but the mouth is very large (like my great-aunt Edna), and it produces a bit of a messy "pour".After tilting the decanter to fill my glass, I noticed some spillage dripping down the outside of the bottle.Well, that IS a bother. Now, I have only owned the Taylor of a month or so, but I have not seen the same behavior from it. It's been quite tidy in all pours so far.To be fair, the mouth of the Taylor is smaller, perhaps 2" in diameter vs. 2.5" for the Jefferson. The Jefferson is larger than the Taylor (one wonders how big the "Taft" decanter will be), and the glass at the mouth is significantly thicker, but all of that just means I dribble more of my special magic juice down the side and must resort to "dabbing" with a paper towel afterwards. I, of course, use a paper towel rather than cloth, so I can later wring it out into a Julep glass. It's nice, but I must say, I prefer the Taylor. That's my two cent's worth.
