I absolutely love this GearTop hat. I purchased it because my doctor told me to wear sunscreen protection and specifically to wear a wide brimmed hat. I have tons of regular trucker style/baseball style hats, but needed a wide brim. This hat looks great. The color is perfect - not too light so it won’t get dirty and not too dark so it won’t absorb heat. The fit of the hat is also perfect for my large sized head (just as the fitment chart said). It is very lightweight so you’ll barely notice it on your head - no real extra weight whatsoever. The drawstring serves as both an adjustment for sizing as well as a way to lock the drawstring under your chin to keep it even more in place for those really windy days. So far I haven’t needed to lock in place as the hat fits so well. The thing that really sold me on this hat is the ventilation system. I hate hats that make your hotter and don’t ventilate well. This has ventilates amazingly because the circumference area on the upper part of the hat has a mesh that allows for airflow in and heat out. Everyone also thinks that I look pretty good in this hat as I get many compliments so far. The UVF of 50+ in the fabric is also perfect as many of the sun’s rays can get through most clothing. I truly cannot think of a better quality made hat that stays attractive. This hat ticks all the boxes for the perfect hat. Absolutely an emphatic recommend for anyone looking for a great sun hat, hiking hat, gardening hat, etc.

Although the hat arrives a bit flattened and wrinkled, the instructions explain how to remediate that. Other than these superficial appearance flaws, the hat is just as advertised. It is made of a nice-quality, smooth nylon, is adjustable to any head size, protects head and neck from sun, has a secure clasp, is well-ventilated with wrap-around mesh, and folds easily. It is a bit heavier than my previous sunhat, but that one did not have an SPF factor. It's a good value for money and looks as if it will hold up to years of wear.

Comfortable but almost too tight for my big head. Keeps the sun off while working outside. Ugly as heck though. Comes all wrinkled, not like the ones worn by the models pictured.

I bought this for my neighbor who was leaving for Hawaii with his wife. He loved it! It fit him perfectly. He tried out the pouch inside with a little frozen pad he usually uses to nurse a sprained finger. He said it cooled him off! It's pretty thick and sturdy and the brim is wide enough to protect his face and neck in the sun, without being too wide. He's had some skin cancers removed from his face and neck, so he was happy for the wide brim. His wife liked that it protects him better than his other hats that have more narrow brims. She also liked that it's machine washable. While they say it's not waterproof, we sprayed water on it and it ran off. I suppose if you stood in the rain for a while, the water might start making it through. He loved the color, the fit and the size. You can really only fold it in half, but that's not a deal-breaker. I gave ut to him in the nice, thick, plastic zip bag ot came in. It was a home run!

I love the hat which boasts a lifetime warranty. However, when I had an issue, as in the chin strap came undone from the hat band on one side, I discovered Amazon sold the hat "directly from Amazon Retail". The manufacturer says this means the order number is not in their system. This is the second time I've ordered a product from Amazon, only to discover the product warranty is not honored by the manufacturer. Frankly, this seems like a dishonest trade practice. I should not have to investigate the supply chain procedure before I buy something from the retailer. I am going to think twice before purchasing from Amazon again. Update: the manufacturer honored their warranty in spite of the issue with Amazon. They are sending me a new one! I love the hat; it's lightweight, has a hidden zippered compartment in the crown, is adjustable and offers plenty of sun protection.

I absolutely loved this hat during work at a local amusement park: the comfort and look are top-notch *and* it easily holds all those flag coins I ordered.

I absolutely love this hat! The quality is outstanding—honestly better than I expected. The packaging alone impressed me; it came in a box so nice that I still keep it (better than some luxury brands like Louis Vuitton!). The hat itself is lightweight, bendable, and very easy to pack in my bag, which makes it perfect for travel or outdoor activities. It’s also easy to clean, which is a big plus. When it comes to sun protection, this hat does it all. The wide brim gives excellent coverage, shielding my neck, back, and front from the sun. I feel fully protected without feeling hot or heavy. Truly the best investment ever for anyone who spends time outdoors. Highly recommend it!
