This was a whimsy purchase. I saw the cactus ones all over BuzzFeed articles and was originally going to buy those. After reading reviews of the quills falling out of the cactus I turned my eye to these fish.I read some reviews saying the eyes would fall off, or the quills would break but I've had mine for 4 months now and I do laundry with them 3 times a week, and mine look almost brand new. The white one the tips of the quills have started to turn black but that isn't a big deal for me. I haven't noticed my dryer has any black marks and my clothes come out fine.I can't say how well it actually works at cutting down the drying time in the regular laundry like clothes but I have noticed an improvement in my blankets and sheets. My blankets aren't getting tangled up and they are drying more uniformly.They do make noise during the cycle, sort of like there is something lose in your machine. After a bit, I got used to the sound but it is noticeable, so be prepared.I think they're really cute and fun to use, so for me that is enough to make this a happy purchase,

These dryer balls are not only cute but very useful. Especially when living in an apt with shared washer and dryers, these dryer balls with have your sheets, towels, clothes, etc. fluffed and dried to perfection. Highly recommend.

Great product!

While they may be a bit strange looking, these are a very smart purchase. Not only are they basically eternally useful, they're freaking adorable. I no longer have to buy dryer sheets, as these little fish are fantastic at removing static and lint from my clothes. Even after quite a bit of use, they are showing no wear and tear, nor are they becoming any less effective. My only extremely minor complaint is the initial noise level they generate when you start the dryer. And that's only because I'm too lazy to bury them in my clothes to avert such a situation, which you may be willing to do. Overall, fantastic purchase and if ever they needed to be replaced, I would certainly buy them again. Especially if they came in other colors because that's just even more fun.For anyone who may be wondered, they are approximately the size of a small apple and they are not rock hard, but very firm. They don't squish easily and they retain their color exceptionally well. No need to worry about clothes being damaged or stained by these little fellas. 10/10 would recommend.Update 02/18: One fish has gone Nemo on me and lost a fin. It looks a little sad now, but it continues to perform valiantly. I'd still recommend the little guys.

I only got these bc I saw an article that said they ‘shorten the drying time and fluff up towels like you’ve never seen before’. Long story short, I bought a bunch of fluffy towels, NOT ended up being fluffy and were super thin, towels and wanted to give it a go. Washed the towels many times with these two buddies and no extra fluff. Also. Any account for the ‘shortened time’ simply bc I’m not paying attention. Also, can’t be sure but I have notice quite a bit more static, so there’s that.

These guys were really hard and felt like they were made of solid plastic when I got them, but got a bit squishier, revealing they are filled with air, after I used them once or twice. After that second wash, however, their firmness has remained the same--slightly squishy, not enough to really be worrying. They don't help dissipate the static from my woolen leggings, which I thought they were supposed to do. They also acquire a neat dark blushing on their tips--I know a lot of people have said they don't like this, but I actually loved it because it makes them look more realistic! They helped us save a lot of quarters in the dryer, especially with fitted sheets and towels! They also make the laundry a lot more fun, because they constantly get lost in the clean clothes and so my husband and I are always like 'where are the fishies?' and 'did you put the fishies back in their house?' and that's just. A little bit of cute fun in my day. I'm glad I got these!
