A better alternative to filling your cooler with ice.
I needed an ice pack that I could wrap around my bottles of milk for my son while we were out. I orginally had the regular block ice packs but found that they only really keep one side of the bottle or food cold, often just the bottom or the top. At least with these I would have the option of wrapping it around the container of food or bottle. It is also nice that they are flexible so I can fit them in a smaller cooler or just lay them flat in a bigger cooler. I live in a warm climate but these will last all day as long as my soft cooler is not out in the sun. I would highly recommend for anyone that often pack ice in their cooler to keep things cold. You no longer have to deal with jumping the melted ice out and run into possible leak issues. I like it since I don't have to worry about the melted ice leaking in my food container that I have packed for my toddler. Worth the investment.

This thing is great and has a LOT of uses!
I bought this Ice blanket with the sole intention of helping my crazy husband stay cool (he takes the bike to work everyday, even in the summertime here in Arizona.) And yes, it works great for that! He usually sandwiches it on his back between his shirt and riding jacket and says it definitely helps him stay cool on his 45 minute (each way) ride to/from work. But what I didn't expect, is all the other uses I have had from it as well! My dog had surgery last week, I laid this on the floor with a thin towel over it and she wouldn't get up from it! I use it as an ice pack for sprains & strains; great for sunburn areas and even lay it over the top of my head when I have a migraine and it really seems to help! Just pop it back in the freezer and it is ready to go again very quickly!

Works for me.
This has held up well. I have used this for several month. I cut a section off to make a smaller blanket of two rows and it did not cause a problem. There was enough margin between the rows of cells to let me do this. I have only lost the fluid in two cells over a period of about six months; which I think is not bad. I always place paper towel at the bottom of my lunch tote and I think it absorbed the fluid. Because it is a series of individual cells I can continue to use the blanket. The loss of two cells has not made a difference in it's ability to keep my lunch chilled. If it had been one big cell of fluid, it would have made a terrible mess and the whole blanket would have had to be tossed. It is inevitable that this will not last forever so at least any mishaps are kept to a minimum since it is a design of individual small cells of fluid.

Cuttable if you prefer smaller pieces and stays cold for a long time
I find this product to freeze pretty fast and hold its cold temperature for a long period of time. Also has the options (being careful not to cut into the liquid of course) to cut them down into strips or as small of pieces as you'd like. With that being said, once you cut them, thats how you are stuck with them (obviously). As the picture shows, it comes with 3 rows of 12 pouches for 36 total. If you leave the item whole or in long strips, it has a lot of flexibility to wrap around items keeping them cooler longer. I would definitely recommend this product over regular ice or even an ice pack that has no flexibility. Just need to be more careful with this because that comes at a small cost of being more fragile than something that has hard plastic for example. Overall, highly recommended!

It'll work
This is about what I expected, although no dimensions were given that I could see. It's maybe 10" by 16" or so. I'm really sensitive to the heat even in the 80's, but I need to be able to work in the yard, walk, etc, so I've been trying different products. The gel is not flexible after it is completely frozen, only when it's partially frozen. The gel didn't leak, delivery time was very fast. I haven't used it outside yet, but I'm hoping it stays frozen longer than the little snack bags of frozen peas I improvised after the diaper-gel-filled neck scarves - they warmed to body temp in about 30 minutes. There actually is a gel that is flexible when frozen - I got some with a casserole carry-case, but it's the size of a brick.

A Waste of Money
Since this item was securely packaged I had believed that it would have held up to the Rubbermaid name plus the function that it was supposed to provide. Wrong on both counts! This item was used after having had it in the freezer for forty - eight hours. Yes, it was rock solid when removed. It seemed as though it would last for the time needed to keep the items cold. Wrong again! In just less than two hours this thing melted~~~turned to blue water! Mind you, the container is insulated and able to maintain ice packs. Other ice packs work quite well in each one of the insulated containers. What happened here is beyond me! This purchase was extremely disappointing, and I would not recommend Rubbermaid Blue Ice Flexible Ice Blanket to anyone. (two thumbs down for sure!) What a waste of money! There would have been some consolation to be able to return it and receive a full refund. (Dream on, I say!) Most of the time Amazon gets it right with wonderful products. This one just "slipped through the cracks", I suppose.

I use as an "ice pack"
Trouble is I keep loaning these to people and not getting them back. Perfect to keep in the fridge for the day you need a "ice pack" on a sore muscle. Not the freezer, that creates hard lumps. Fridge is cool enough to do good to your sore muscle or limb without any risk of too achingly cold. Of course it's not designed for this, lie down with this under an aching back and one of the areas might pop open, but to wrap around an ankle or neck, fabulous. (You can also toss them in a cooler with drinks or a grocery to bring him cold foods on a hot day, for that keeping one in the freezer is better.)
