CONSTRUCT & CREATE Robotic Hedgehog

We got this for our 8 year old daughter, she’s not massively into Lego but she does love hedgehogs! As such I wasn’t sure how she’d take to it. The instructions can seem a bit overwhelming at first but in fact if you just follow step by step they are written incredibly well.Our daughter successfully built it in a day, it’s not something you can knock together in a few minutes! My husband & I took it in turns to sit with her while she was doing it (we used a diagonal cutter to get each piece off the frame they are in - like old air fix stuff, so supervised use of this sharp implement but by end she was using them really well & managing to cut the burrs off?) & we helped push a few bits in fully but overall she did it all herself. The sense of satisfaction, excitement & joy after achieving it was wonderful to see. Now Hermione as the hedgehog has been called is one of her favourite toys - all seems to be working perfectly well.Utterly brilliant toy, can’t recommend enough.Only thing I felt bad about was that obviously it’s plastic 😬

8+ lol. Takes about 6-8 hours to do. Still doesn't roll, not sure why, could be I didn't construct it correctly I guess as it's quite complex.

Firstly, this isn’t really a toy for an 8 year old. My son is 9 and he needed adult supervision to build this hedgehog, but having said that it was a great, if rather fiddly, father/son project. You have to be exceedingly careful how you cut out the components otherwise you can come a bit unstuck. My son cut one of the feet out wrongly ... and it was almost a disaster! Superglue to the rescue! Once built the hedgehog worked for a short while - but has had a technical hitch - so is needs to be unpicked again!

Was missing part from battery cover, batteries not included of course, screws not possible to screw in properly. Overly a kid spend good 6 hours to put it together with moms help, she liked it, when it was finished - so I guess that's good. As it was a present.But not worth the price in my opinion.

Unable to give true review as bought as Christmas gift. However arrived safely and we’ll packaged. Looks good and is actually much larger than I expected.

My sons both wanted these- ages 9 and 7. The concept is really greAt but...... I think the cheap components compromise what could otherwise be a superb gadget. Bit tricky to build, but fun. Downside of plastic cogs is they wear quickly and the parts (because of the poor quality) did not stay connected enough to reliably work. We returned one as it wouldn’t work properly despite our best efforts of adjusting (stuffing bits of cardboard and tape things to make sure the connections worked), the other we still have and it works sporadically which is incredibly frustrating. Really great concept though- manufacturers please take note- I’d rather pay a bit extra for more sturdy parts to ensure the mechanisms are reliable.

Bought for my grandson this gift took a very concentrated period of around 3.50 hours to put together.Few children of this age range have the patience to do this.Quality gets the rating. Assembling this gift would not get any rating from me.

Didn't realise we had to build it. Should have read it more carefully. Could be clearer on the box. Son was a bit disappointed thinking it was already a hedgehog. Still in box at the moment. Not had a chance to put it together with him.
