Q: Derived from sugar means cane, yes?

Derived from sugar does not necessarily mean "Cane". Sugar is a carbohydrate that is found naturally in most plants, sugar beets, but especially in sugarcane. Alternatively, Sucralose is an synthetic artificial sweetener and a sugar substitute.

Q: Whats the difference beteween this and spelenda?

This product is pure, unadulterated sucralose. Splenda only contains probably 5% sucralose per serving...which is an effort to create equivalency with sugar...and make even more money if you ask me. The rest is filler. If you pour one teaspoon of Splenda in your tea it’s supposed to mimic the sweetness of one teaspoon of sugar. If you were to put one teaspoon of this pure sucralose powder in your tea you would end up spitting your tea everywhere because it would be so disgusting. You would only need a tiny, tiny, tiny, the most tiny pinch imaginable of this sucralose powder to equal a teaspoon of sugar or Splenda. It is extremely powerful. Although it is approximate, I did the math and a 100 gram pack of this sucralose powder is roughly equivalent to 2000 packets/teaspoons of Splenda/sugar. I hope this helps

I don't make it, I just buy it. I have purchased sucralose from this company four times and have had no problems whatsoever. If you haven't purchased sucralose before or don't know what it is, then do some research before buying.

Q: Is this safe? What's up with the brown color reported by others?

if it isn't sealed properly, it can discolor. it doesn't go "bad", but the sweetness profile changes.
