Covergirl Aquasmooth Compact Foundation, Creamy Natural, 0.4 Ounce

I’ve used CG products for years, including Simply Powder Foundation in Ivory. I wanted to try out the AquaSmooth in Ivory since I’m aging, and powder foundations look too dry sometimes.It’s a surprisingly great cream makeup for the price! True to its “aqua” name, it feels a bit wet/cool when first applied, but quickly dries to very light and natural finish. This stuff truly just feels like my own skin, no heavy cakey crap at all. Glides over fine lines, and lasts all day. Would work for oily skin, which mine still is sometimes.I would describe the coverage as light to medium, depending how much is applied.Note about CG foundations, they tend to run a bit dark. I have warm-toned skin and in other brands I usually wear the 3rd or 4th lightest shade (think “buff,” “sand,” “light beige”). However, with CG AquaSmooth, Ivory is the lightest shade available and it works for me. It is perhaps a *tad* too light, but just a tad. And I’d rather have that, than a yellow or orange line on my neck where the foundation ends!I don’t expect this 0.4-oz compact to last as long as a larger bottle of liquid foundation, but it’s cheap enough and convenient enough that I don’t mind. Makes my skin look beautiful!

I have had a hard time finding this particular makeup in stores near me. I was happy to find it on Amazon. I have used Cover Girl products since the 70's. I have used more expensive brands over the years and have not been as pleased with them for one reason or another. The CG Aqua Smooth has just the right amount of moisturizer for my skin without being too oily. It is easy to apply and looks natural. The scent is light and pleasant. My skin has changed over the years. I am so glad that I can still use Cover Girl products. Brings back memories of it being my first makeup.

Geez, when I think back to how long I’ve been using this foundation, it really takes me back, probably 15 years or so, whenever it first came out. I’m in my mid-50s now with a fair, cool-toned complexion and a few age spots and freckles. The 710 Classic Ivory shade is perfect for me. This covers everything about 90% while still feeling like I have nothing on my face. I occasionally stray to other foundations (like K-beauty cushions), but I always come back to the Aqua Smoothers foundation.I have slightly dry skin and can’t use powder foundations, but this keeps my face looking dewy. I also love that it has SPF 20, although I still use a regular SPF before applying most of the time. My favorite way to apply it is with a damp Beauty Blender sponge, dabbing it on for a natural finish. The included rectangular sponge works fine too, and I appreciate that the compact even has a little “drying” section for it if you dampen it.This stays on almost all day for me, I honestly can’t imagine being without it.

I used to wear this makeup as a teenager, and it was my favorite. I stopped wearing it as it was hard to find, but when I saw it for sale on Amazon, I snatched it up again. I wasn't sure how it would do with my aging skin, as the cheap Covergirl liquid foundations that I could get away with wearing as a young woman make me break out now and look very oily. I had been using CoverGirl Simply Ageless with decent results, but I love this more. The sponge is soft and doesn't soak up the makeup like some others, and the foundation blends beautifully. It doesn't build up in creases, and it isn't too oily or dry. It doesn't last as long as I'd like for the price, but I'd gladly spend the money to restock.

This is my go to foundation. I like that it's not a liquid as it feels like the liquids tend to be wasted more. My one thing is that the sponge seems dirty before the end of the product but you can buy replacement sponges rather easily. Overall I would say this is a good product which doesn't cause irritation and blends well.

Covers brilliantly and leaves my face soft and smooth.

I have used this foundation for years and I love it. It is so light and I can't feel it at all on my face like other foundations. I've had trouble finding it and I really hope they don't discontinue it!
