Durability and beauty!
Great tool and a wonderful show of craftsmanship! If only the handle could have as much character as the blade it would be a piece of art! Sharpness lasts thru many uses.

Absolute beast.
Im clearing 2 acres of brush with this and oh my god. This thing looks like something at a mall kiosk, but it is a beast. It handles everything so well, sharp as it needs to be, I was cutting everything from tall grass, to thicker plants, to small trees with this thing and it is still going strong as the day I got it. Money well spent.

Garden tool
The handle is smaller than I thought, but is sharp and seems to work ok.

Sickle as advertised
9/19/25 Just got this sickle. The sickle seems to be of very good quality. It is not made in Japan, it is made in China. It took a long time to get the wrapper off, might need an xacto knife. I put an edge on it with a half-round file and a scythe stone. It was too easy to put an edge on it, meaning the steel is very soft. I had not tried it on weeds yet, I will update this review when I do. I clean the blade off and rubbed gun oil on the metal. For those of you who complain in your reviews about this sickle rusting, the fault belongs to you. You should know to take care of you tools. Clean and oil it after every use. The photos are: Out of the box, after putting an edge on and oiling it, and an end view of the blade (And detail shots). The blade is not bent, I am sure it was made this way for right handers, so that the blade will swing at a good angle when weeding. 9/24/25 After a couple of tries with this sickle, I find it is great for soft grasses and small weeds. Larger tall weeds can be gripped with one hand, and the sickle pulled up and towards you to cut the stalk. Useless on anything larger, but that is fine, this sickle is not a machete. I see why the handle is so light, I got tired after a while.

Sharp!
Good looking design and very sharp! I only used it once to cut grass that grew on edges of my dirt piled veggie rows, easily cut off grass but the size is overkill since I dont have much grass to cut. Cant wait to use this sickle to harvest my water spinach that I grow in bundles. MY Only complaint is there is no safety cover sheath, i will have to make one, lest sharp edge is dangerous and easily damaged when banging with other tools in the box.

Sharp but gets rusty quickly
Sharp & easy to use but rusted very quickly--a month or two after unwrapping. It wasn't stored near moisture.

Yardwork
Oh my goodness I love using this outside in my yard But please do not let your child get a hold of this it is so sharp. It does the job and the weeds that were growing in my garden are now gone. Again very helpful. Do not leave a child unsupervised with this around keep it put away when not in use. Excellent product. Highly dangerous though if not handled properly.

I bought this so I don't have to stoop down with hand snips to cut things. This blade is perfect for cutting down weeds, stems, and small branches. I used it to cut down my perennials (Dahlias, Peonies, Clematis, etc.) during fall yardwork and cuts the stem easily. I also used it to chop cedar branch tips but not woody branches. It is EXTREMELY SHARP. Make sure you wear safety gloves. Am currently looking at making a sheath to put on the blade when not in use.

My sickle arrived a few days after I'd ordered it. I watched a video on how to use it and then took it up to our community garden, where I attacked the 4' tall grass that had taken over an abandoned plot. That grass never stood a chance! The sickle made the job far easier than hacking at the grass with a knife. As other commenters have noted, the sickle does not come with a sheaf. I made one using duct tape and the cardboard from the shipping box.

When I initially opened the package I was a little disappointed, the pins holding it together looked like an afterthought but they haven't given me any trouble yet. It is hard to picture how sharp the blade is. I was able to cut a single blade of grass without mangling the rest of the shoots, and I was able to slice a 3/4" knotweed stem almost without noticing. I feel like it is slightly faster than using a weed trimmer, and certainly way more fun.
