Live in Light: 5-Minute Devotions for Teen Girls, A Christian Girl's Guide to the Teenage Years (Inspirational Devotional for Teen Girls) Review: Help a teenager feel good about their everyday worries about growing up! - This book was purchased for my granddaughter who just completed her 8th grade school year at home doing online coursework due to the COVID-19 Quarantine in our state. The learning online was not as difficult once we all got the hang of it and realized that the teachers were also trying their hardest to teach our child! HOWEVER, the lack of spiritual guidance for teens getting ready to embark upon their first year in high school was lacking. Missing sports, friends, clubs and other things such as scouting and church families (which both provided a lot of solid spiritual guidance for the child were missing and no one could make up for that loss). The pastor, the scout leaders and the child’s parents had been great role models but children that age often keep their “deep secrets” to themselves as they are certain that no one else has ever had their experiences! Even the most extroverted child can become an introverted child when feeling the uncertainties of being a teen in high school or a young adult trying to make decisions. In this little book a child is able to find solid and thought-provoking, answers and guidance through little 5-minute activitIRS. And, as most teens would prefer, they can find those answers in the privacy of their own space without adult guidance and without the chance of giving “right or wrong” answers to an adult’s or other student’s question. Another advantage is that the child does not have to read the topics “in order.” There is an index that allows the students to find a particular subject that is bothering them and turn to that section for helpful ideas on “living through and gaining from these events.” It is very helpful to the child who doesn’t want the entire world to know that she or he (there is also one written especially for males) hasn’t figured out all of the solutions to growing up in their world. It gives the high school student better “tools” for handling day-to-day challenges as they grow older and wiser. High School is the suggested venue for this little book but there are no limitations or timeframes in any person’s life when the skills gained here will be useful (or of no use) in developing the skills wanted to become comfortable in life. You will find a child reading a section over and over again as they find value in the help offered for the issues they want to overcome. It is not a substitute for a perfect guidance counselor, but it is a great tool for any child who is growing into a teen or young adult and wants to feel comfortable in school and in life and feel like they can better understand their colleagues while there and “fit in” with others. It is extremely helpful for a parent to read this book separately from their child (you can find it in libraries where you can read it online or purchase it from desertcart and keep the Kindle version at your fingertips without having your copy visible on your desk or nightstand so that you will not be reading your child’s personal notes. Growing up is hard. Don’t let them do it blindly. Help them without invading their privacy. I think these students will remember your contribution for life! You don’t have to limit sharing this book to your own child. I used it as an “attached and signed card” attached to a different gift where the different gift was the main attraction and my “attached card” was read later in privacy where thoughts were private and confidential. However, if you decide that this book would be a good gift for a friend’s child, I would suggest that you give it to the parent first with a note that says something like, “Someone gave my Jamie a copy of this little book and I thought you and Sam might enjoy it also. If not, please pass it on to someone you think might benefit from the daily readings. Review: Just perfect! - Perfect for a saved teenager with a packed schedule. These five minute devotionals are impactful. God can meet them in five minutes. Be blessed!

Relevant for teens
My daughters 13 and 16 have been using this devotional for about a year now and they’ve really enjoyed it. I just purchased for my 17 year old niece as well. We’ve liked the short, relevant daily devotions.

For Teens Not Tweens
Great but definitely for teens. Too advanced for a 10-year-old on certain pages.

Bought for my teen cousin and she loves it and reads it twice daily. I’m taking part in raising her and ensuring she knows God and has inner beauty to go with her outer beauty. This is a fantastic tool to guide her in my absence and give her day to day wisdom.
