This is a great collection of essays on the Prelude and Transfiguration. This is a must for musicians (theorists and musicologists).

The very best thing about this volume is the sheer amount of commentary. If you like quantities of verbiage with your Norton Critical Scores, as I do, this one will please you on that count. There's a lot to cover, here, for this music is not only interesting in its own right, but pivotally important in the history of music, especially of harmony. The analyses here are diverse, and very rewarding.
