Don't hesitate, just buy it.
This thing is fantastic. Stick the adapter to the back of your phone or case, mount the bracket to the handlebars using the included rubber inserts and tighten the bolt. There is a positive click when twisting the phone onto the mount and once it's on it is very secure with no wobbling or vibration. Easy to remove by pressing from the side with your thumb and twist the phone at the same time. This price is an absolute bargain compared to the apparent market leader. Very good quality and feels like it will last a long time.

Just awful - don't waste your money
I tried to fix this to my bike today and it didn't go well... I'd read some reviews claiming that the mount was brittle, but naively assumed these people had just ballsed up the installation or were being hamfisted when using it. Using a torque wrench to avoid overtightening, I gently turned the fixing bolt to secure the mount to my handlebar. Before it had even properly gripped, the bracket holding the pin disintegrated, making the whole mount completely unusable. God knows what this thing is made of, but it's not at all fit for purpose. As a few of the other reviewers point out, the mechanism itself is incredibly stiff and I certainly would not trust this mount to withstand everyday use for very long. The Gearlock mount sells at an appealing price point and you may be debating whether its worth a punt over some pricer alternatives. It's really not. This is extra disappointing as I've used Spigen gear in the past and found it to be great quality. I'm off to buy a Quadlock instead.

Secure locking mechanism but mounting strap could be improved
Generally this is a good item but it’s also easy to se why there have been some negative reviews. It’s good in a way that a plastic strap and worm gear are employed in terms of not marking your bike. However, there’s a fine line between tightening the strap up so it grips and overtightening it so the plastic detents strip. This is compounded by the fact that initially to release the phone from the locking mechanism you have to press hard. As a consequence pushing the release tends to make the mount move out of alignment. The release becomes easier with repeated use and is less of a problem. Additionally if your handle bar stem is tapered and not concentric it’s very difficult to screw in enough to grip and I had to use a wedge as per photo to stabilise it and get enough tension. The other criticism levelled against this mount is that the self adhesive phone case adapter becomes unstuck causing phones to fall off and get damaged. The backing is actually good 3M tape and I’d say if it comes loose either the surface of the phone is too rough or hasn’t been cleaned properly prior to affixing the adapter. It would probably be a good idea if Spigen included an isopropyl alcohol wipe in the kit. On the whole apart from the questionable robustness of the mounting strap and the omission of an alcohol wipe being included this is a good product. The latching mechanism is very secure and well designed allowing portrait and landscape mounting and it is a small discrete item. In terms of cost these are much cheaper than the Quadlock and Mous equivalents and do a similar job nearly as well so I’m giving it a thumbs up with the exception of the two caveats mentioned

Perfect really
Perfect really for a great price, the actual mount is sturdy and the clipping in is easy to operate - not too dissimilar to it's more expensive counterpart. The only thing to note it is worth superglueing to a stiff case because the sticky bit did comunstuck on the first ride. No issues since glueing it - hope that helps :)

Used on Motorcycle 🏍️
Superb - fitted to my Yamaha YZFR - Had to use a foam block to raise the mount above the key in the ignition but it’s working fine and acts as added security blocking the key from being taken out without removing the phone first 😁

Not fit for purpose
Bought this for my wifes birthday to use on her cycle rides. Have used Spigen before and purchased off the back of this. Only used less than half a dozen times and the mount failed resulting in damage to my wifes phone. The click and turn mechanism has broken. I have emailed Spigen and am awaiting a reply but as of right now i'm about £30 out of pocket ( i also bought a case to specifically use) and a damaged S23 ultra. Not a happy bunny.

Fantastic little mount – installation is a breeze, it sits in just the right position for easy viewing, and the lock/release mechanism for phones is super convenient to use (even one-handed). Would totally recommend this.

I'm back with a edit...... It's not perfect you'll need to make it perfect. The strap that comes with it isint worth your time and completely see where people's issues with it are coming in.. Buy a hose clamp and a piece of shrink tube, put the shrink tube ovef the hose clamp and use the hose clamp to strap the lock on. Toss the one that's with it in the trash it's weak it strips and it wasn't designed right. It don't close small enough.. Just get the hoseclamp whole you wait for delivery.. It's still the best phone holder on the market even with the janky strap. It's perfect. You just have to adapt. I'll start with the CON... The strap would not go tight enough on its own. Handlebar was not big enough around I just took some Gorilla Tape and wrapped around my handlebar and thickened it up until it was enough for the strap to go tight other than that one issue which very likely won't be an issue on a lot of new bikes isn't enough to take a stir away This thing locks your phone on there even better than the advertisement, it out performs everything I have tried before it and likely gone through a dozen.. I will some how build something on my boat to attach one to. Your phone is NOT coming out of this holder without two hands And the want for it to. Honestly I can't believe it was only 30 bucks. Texting is as easy as sitting on the couch bombing down the path lol. Editors note DON'T TEXT N DRIVE! 1)It's a one hitter quitter do not think you'll place the sticky and then move it. Line up test line up test line up test (in that order) then stick its sticky AF 2) PUSH UP ON THE RONDED PART (on the bike side of the holder) THEN TURN PHONE (either way) TO Release. 3) do not over tighten the plastic bolt used to hold the band it seems like it will strip. Although mine did not. Can't take you a pic on there cause it's holding my phone right now.

I've waited over a year before reviewing this. it was a year+ ago that I came across this mount. I had many plastic ones in the past, all broken. I've used those rubber ones, they flop. I almost went with an aluminum holder, but the way it sticks UP, i didn't want that. I read reviews long ago, and some were claiming it wobbled, it was cheap, it broke etc etc. which really made me not consider it. But i decided to go for it. I mounted it to my handlebars. the design is perfect if you have a sondors fat bike. it fits perfect over the throttle lights! Its also nice to not have my phone in a jersey pocket. I also 3d printed a mount for the wall at work, so i can lock it in place, while at work. the only problem i've had was the screw in the middle coming loose. I've had to tighten it 3 times during my purchase. But, part of that is my laziness, as I keep forgetting to put locktite on the threads (dont get locktite on plastic!!). the phone will not wobble if you keep the screw tight. you can tell when it is loose, cause your phone will wobble and sometimes will mislock on the mount. i did put the mount on my otterbox, and it hasn't come undone. I did clean it good prior, put it on, then used a clamp on it overnight. **Update** still love it, but saddened to find out you can't get the phone mount anymore.. I have 2 phones now, would love to order another mount for the phone, but no longer available and the company pretty much said the same. good luck finding one. buying another handlebar kit seems like a waste of money.
